Subject: Rugrats

WHo remembers them? I loved them! They debuted in 1991 and got cancelled in 1993. They were very popular in syndication so Nickelodeon brought it back in 1987 and it lasted til 2004. I think it is the 2nd longest running cartoon of all time right behind The Simpsons.

I don't like the 90s NickToons mostly (except Angry Beavers! ;)) but they are very nostalgic. My favorite 90s nick show has to be Are You Afraid of The Dark?
Anybody remember those goggles you used to watch NickToons in 3D? You'd get them from Lunchable boxes.
Oh yeah, imo rugrats paved the way to Nick becoming a pure cartoon channel. Just like disney has been doing.
BTW, does anyone think Disney went downhill in 03? I mean, That's So Raven? blech! Kim Possible is the only good show still airing and that's almost over probably. I like Disney best from '99 (when I first started watching it) to 2002.

IMO, The Disney Channel went downhill in 1999 with the inroduction of "Zoog Disney" and pushing all the classic shows & classic cartoons into the dusk time slot until they were completely taken over by tween oriented shows & bland movies in 2001.
The only show worth watching is "House of Mouse", which is 'so & so', but some I've seen are funny.
In the 1980's & '90's. "The Disney Channel" was more like the Family Channel (nw owned by ABC...ironically also owns Disney) with shows that were aimed towards the whole family like "Avonlea", "Ocean Girl", Disney movies, that show about a boy trapped in another universe, "Zorro", "Spin & Marty", "MMC" (original & '90's version), and classic cartoons featuring Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc. :)
Sadly, now the only shows I've seen are either aimed towards toddlers or tweens like "Lizzie McGuire", "Kim Possible" (No offense), "The Wiggles", etc. Not even one "DTV" clip.

I used the like the rugrats when it was first on but I never liked the new episodes when it came back. I liked that Johnny Tsunami movie too lol. I wish they'd bring back the 90's MMC.
