See i like a lot of the Limp Bizkit music (because of the variation) it's just Durst is a total jerk!

I'd much rather listen to Yanni than Limp Bizkit anyday - Yanni actually plays something resembling music. And for the record - i'm not one of those types that thinks if its too loud you're too old...I happen to have a rather wide and varied taste in music. It simply doesn't include LB.

When I first saw this thread, my initial knee-jerk reaction was to vote for Limp Bizkit, due to my rabid hatred of Fred Durst. However, I held off and gave it a little thought first. I thought to myself, "Now, if I was hitchhiking across the country, would I rather ride several hundred miles with someone who had Yanni in their CD player or someone who was listening to Limp Bizkit?" And after thinking about it for a little longer, I decided that I could probably handle listening to Limp Bizkit for a few hours. If the driver was listening to Yanni, however, I'd be so creeped out that I'd demand to be let out of the car after about three miles. Even if I was on a desolate two-lane highway 50 miles away from Bumf*ck, Montana at two o'clock in the morning and there was a raging blizzard outside. I'd like to think that I could tough it out. If I had my Carhartts with me, no sweat.

Limp Bizkit. Listening to Yanni puts me to sleep (I call him Yawny) whereas Limp Bizkit makes me wanna punch someone in the face, namely Fred Durst.
While neither is my type of music I do own Yanni Live at the Acropolis. It seldom

They're not comparible in any way, except for being totally unalike. Well, and both aren't my kind of music. But if it had to be one, definitely Limp Bizkit.
I'm not saying rap and hard rock can't be mixed together. In fact, I happen to like cross genre-ing on many different kinds of music, and there's tons of good rap/rock (the remake of "Walk this Way" in 1986, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Faith No More on "Epic").
However, LB is a perfect example of how it can s*ck and sound completely mindless (IMO). Just the fact they were popular for around two years was astonishing to me then. Not to mention many of my peers/buddies who actually loved it at the time.

I have to say both, but especially Limp Bizkit...Fred Durst is supremely untalented...I'd rather listen to nu-metal that's decent and even inspiring.. P.O.D.'s Sonny Sandoval is much more inspiring as a rapper/frontman than Durst is. Limp Bizkit's stuff depresses me. P.O.D.'s lyrics inspire me and lift my spirits.
Besides, Sonny's tattoos are cool. But that's besides the point.

i have never heard of yanni, and limp bizkit disgust me. i really cannot stomach fred durst, so for me limp bizkit was thje obvious choice

But I dislike Eminem even more than Durst!

No, not really - they began in 1997 or 98 I believe. They fizzled out just as quick - THANK GOD!

I chose Limp Bizkit because they're extremely annoying and extremely untalented. I put empasis on extreme.
Like Red Ant said, Yanni isn't all that bad. I also have the tape of "Live at the Acropolis" because my Dad and I actually liked watching this concert years ago (I guess that was 1991-92). I can actually blame Yanni for me getting into classical music, even though he really isn't classical, per se.

Yanni is bland elevator music. Bizkit's undeserved rapid rise and even more rapid disintegration helped to essentially put the final nail in the coffin of hard rock/metal's commercial viability for good in the US. Easy choice for me.

Limp Bizkit. At least Yanni is good for when you're not feeling well and you can't sleep and you need some soothing music in the background.
