Subject: Clarence Carter's "Strokin'"
Written By: AngeFaitore on 01/19/05 at 3:27 pm
Do any of you remember when the novelty hit "Strokin' " was re-released in the spring or summer of 1995 (I believe it was originally released in 1986)?
I remember hearing the song every Saturday night on some syndicated dance/remix show back when I used to listen to the radio all day long.
The song was popular because it was used in The Nutty Professor.
It was the pre-cursor to the Macarana which came out later in 1996 and it stirred up a lot of controversy for being played at weddings.

There was one woman where I worked at the time it was out that absolutely loved the song. Sure, it was funny, but hearing it played over and over again all day long can get tedious...
