Achy Breaky Heart may have been a song that made alot of people cringe, however, Billy Ray Cyrus could actually sing alot better than a majority of country artists.  His first 2 cd's had some pretty good songs on them, one being "Some Gave All."  Vanilla Ice was a one hit wonder in my opinion.

Vanilla Ice and Billy Ray Cyrus should never be in the same sentence.  It's like comparing apples to oranges.  But Vanilla Ice did make more of an arse out of himself.  Billy Ray is still around.

Both were like novelty songs, but Vanilla Ice is worse I guess, since he was trying to be serious with his "tough guy from the streets" act, lol. "Achy Breaky Heart" (like most early-mid '90s pop/country) sounded like a watered-out '80s AC song. It was only annoying because it was so overplayed at the time.

Billy Ray was massive in the country charts.  The last hit I knew from him was called 'When I Leave This House' which was a 2003 duet with Canadian country singer Adam Gregory.  I don't much care for country, but I thought this song was pretty good

Yeah, he does get alot of flack for "Achy Breaky Heart", but he's done more than just that (from what I know of his career) and is a more serious musician. I bet he never really intended to be typecasted from that - if not for being so big, it could've easily just been any generic country song c. 1992.

I remember when Achy Breaky Heart came out.  At the time of release and a few years after, it was a serious and very popular hit that people enjoyed.  Such the hit that it was, it overpowered all of his other lesser hits, and he eventually faded out of the limelight.  Eventually when mullets faded out, as did his pop music career, he became somewhat of a laughing stock lol

His country fans stayed loyal though

Actually her name is Destiny Hope Cyrus.  Miley is her nickname. 

I chose both. I actually don't seriously mind their songs, it's just neither are the absolute creme de la creme, next to people like Paul McCartney, The Eagles, etc.
