The Chris Elliott sitcom was called "Get a Life" - the REM song "Stand" was the show's theme.  :)

Sonic the Hedgehog the animated series can be added to 1993.

UPN and the WB were actually launched in 1995.
UPN was launched on January 16th (my birthday) 1995 to be exact.
Star Trek: Voyager premiered that night.

Ned and Stacey can also be added to 1995.

thanks  :)

I also forgot about the popularity of numetal in 1999 with bands like Korn, Kid Rock, & Limp Bizkit.

And the movie "Space Jam" in 1996.  And the disco "comeback" in 1997, which I couldn't stand.

Or Metallica cutting their hair around the same time & former teen queen Deborah Gibson being a Broawway actress. Not to forget Marky Mark, I mean Mark Wahlburg's transition from teen rapper/model to  actor.

Some topics they forgot the first time around:

1990:

"Tremors"
-- Great movie. I've seen it several times but always watch when it pops up on television.

1991
"Herman's Head"
-- I remember it and liked it. A couple of the people who do the voices on "The Simpsons" were characters in this one.

"Wings"
-- This show and Seinfeld were the two most talked about shows at work when they were on. Everyone (the normal people) knew all the episodes and the characters. The Italian cab driver is the only actor of the group still doing well today on television. What happened to everybody else. Is there a lesson to be learned here?

;D

The show also brought us the ONE AND ONLY Thomas Haden Church!!!
He played the mechanic Lowell Mather.
He's currently in the movie Sideways which has numerous nominations for the Independent Spirit and Golden Globe Awards.
It has also won many critic's prizes. Thomas won Best Supporting Actor for every critic's prize except for one.

My birthday's January 17th, when I Love the 90s Part Deux debuts!  :o :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D  I'm gonna turn 25 then!

As for 1998, they can add Pokemon on there(even though vh1's website listed it as 1999).  The Pokemon fad's dying out a bit, now, but Mario was a fad in the late 80s, and Nintendo's still going with him, so Pokemon's probably gonna stick around for a while, too.

Pokemon technically debuted in 1996. That's when the game, manga and the card game came out in Japan. The cartoon itself debuted in 1997.  All five products were released in the spring of 1998 over in America. I think Europe was behind the US because I recall reading about people in the UK waiting longer for the animated series and movies to come out.

Sonic the Hedgehog needs a mention in 1991 or 1994 because he was THE videogame character of the 1990s.  Sonic debuted in 1991, but Sonic mania hit it's peak in 1994.

I probably won't even care about I Love The 90s 80s 70s Part Whatever if Thomas Haden Church wins at the Golden Globes on January 16th.
I'll be watching every news program and entertainment show to see what he has to say the next day.

1992:  "Cool World"  ::)

Sonic was 1991, but he made his first appearance in Japan in 1990, just not in game form.  And I remember seeing a clip of Britney's Baby One More Time video on Zoog Disney in Sept. 1998.

You know, what's funny about the 90s is that, while every other decade seems to blend into each other well enough, aside from the 50s and 60s, I just can't seem to effectively pair up every year of the decade the same way I can pair up the years of the 70s or the 80s.  1990-early 1992 still seemed really 80s, whereas late 1997-1999 still seem pretty modern(but it is changing slowly).  But I still like to group them all up anyway.

Star Trek: Voyager premiered that night.

I remember the night well. I was nine years old at the time, living in Queensbury, N.Y. My dad and I always watched Star Trek NG, and Star Trek DSN together and we were both excited about Voyager. We watched it in the living room, he liked it and I didn't. That was the only episode I ever watched fully. I can see the picture of it in my head right now.

I hope they talk about the movie "Rushmore" in the 1998 section if they didn't do so in the first batch of I Love the 90's.  I saw that movie on Comedy Central at Thanksgiving and thought it was really funny.  My favorite part was when they were in the restaurant and Dr Peter Flynn (played by Luke Wilson) says to Max (Jason Schwartzman), "I'm an O R assistant (not sure if that's the exact line), and Max says "Oh, are you?"  ;D

Bill Murray is funny in this film too.

I didn't watch 1990 because I was watching The Golden Globes.
Unfortunately, Thomas Haden Church, Virginia Madsen and Paul Giamatti won nothing. Sideways won Best Picture, however.

I ment 1991 about Wings, BTW.  ::)
This new "I Love The..." sucks royally. It used to be funny back in 2002 but now the pannelists are trying too hard to be funny and I HATE Michael Ian Black's "humor". What happened to Donal Logue? Now he was FUNNY.

Now Hal Sparks has purple hair... so what? He changes his look everytime one of these things are made.

1.  Zoog Disney actually started in 1998, and Playhouse Disney started in 1999.

2.  That 70's show started in early 1998 along with Malcohn.

IMO, zoog took over the network since it's now mostly tween oriented shows like "Lizzie McGuire" & "Even Stevens".

I'd rather watch "Walt Disney Presents" than one minute of "Dave the Barbarian".  :P  ::)

Thankfully, their classic cartoons are on DVD for all animation fans, children, and pop culture fans alike.  :D
