Well I for one apologize for having subjected your country to this.I have had many happy hours with shows from your shores beginning in the 60's with the Avengers up to now with the Vicar of Dibley.  This is not the way to say thank you. :-[

I know how they could make "The Dukes of Hazzard" more appealing to our friends in the UK. It's simple. Just speed up the tape whenever there's a car chase, and replace the bluegrass soundtrack with the theme song from "The Benny Hill Show."  ;D ;D ;D

lol - This would definately make DOH pretty funny but also have the General Lee explode in mid-air for each show!  I can't comment on Baywatch since I've never watched more than 5 seconds of it.  As for Anna Nicholl, I've unfortunately seen a few of the early episodes and disagree with the UK survey, it should have been the No. 1 worst export.

If I was them I'd vote for a movie, The Patriot. imho it was contrived making them look wicked and dumb and the Americans look like a bunch of...ah shucks I hated that movie. Nothing against anyone who likes it, but I think any red blooded Brit who thought about it would vote the Patriot as a lot of hooey ???

But that was a movie, and the survey dealt with American TV shows.
BTW, nothing against the Brits today, but in the Colonial days the Brits were evil, especially that nutcase George III. ;)

I did a quick survey in my UK office, and this would indeed improve things, particularly if they introduced a crowd of Daisy Duke lookalikes to chase behind Roscoe a la the Hillmeister himself! ;D

As a red-blooded American, I'd like to apologize to our British mates for Baywatch, I can't even consider it payback for Sanford & Son. OTOH, why is it all we get from the Brits today are reality & game shows? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, The Weakest Link, What Not To Wear, & Trading Spaces, but it seems we don't get any dramas or sitcoms anymore. That doesn't seem right. Maybe it'll change now with the so-called Reality rage beginning to fade. Only Survivor, The Apprentice(my favorite) and those on TLC seem to still be doing well. The sooner Fear Factor is cancelled, the better, and I don't think we can blame the U.K. for that, can we?

In answer to your question, the reason all you get is reality and poor game shows (which arent really coming anymore) is the same reason that Millions of Brits are turning off there TV's.

British TV has hit a low spot, you guys were in one a few years ago, but have survived with shows like The Sorprano's, six feet under, The OC & CSI (plus hundreds more)

It's because there is no network competition in england, cable channels dont compete really because they are all under the same umbrella and even the most watched never pull a million viewers. The only competition is between ITV and the BBC (channel 4 & 5 just exist) (I love 4 BTW Best channel).

We pay a license fee and then get subjected to sheeshe  because the tv companys know there is nothign else better. You guys get better TV because there is real competiton.

BTW I agree with all the bad shows, EXCEPT... The Dukes of Hazzard were.. are... and always shall be most righteous.

Two words..... Fear Factor, someone for the love of God, please cancel this show!
