Well, the grunge look was pretty popular such as: jeans, concert tees with flannel shirts tied around the waist & some type of boot. As for pigtails, I don't remember too many girls wearing them. Girls had either the Jennifer Aniston haircut or long straight all one length hair.

Yes, that was for the tomboys. There weren't too many girls wearing things like that when I was in school in the 90s.  Only for the ones who wanted to look like boys. lol.ÂÂ
The ponytail was popular for teen girls but not " pigtails "...that came later in the 90s with the Baby Spice girl look, but the fad didn't last very long anyway.  Another poopular fad was the topsy-tail!

That's true! I wore my bangs like that in jr high ;D
