Subject: R.I.P. Aaliyah
She was a beautiful artist from the mid-90s. The music industry has lost a great talent. May her soul now rest. Very sad weekend!!!

Aaliyah was an incredible artist of the mid-90's to today. She definitely had a tendency to release great songs. "At Your Best (You Are Love)", the Isley Brothers remake, being one of my favorites. Her style and lyrics were very smooth, sensual and strong. She was very beautiful and extremely talented, she also had a very kind soul. She will be missed by all of her family, friends, and people who loved her music.

No disrespect intended here: it's tragic that she was taken before her talent even had time to fully flower, but it would appear that there's machinations afoot to "cash in" on her untimely death already. The horrible vampire film she had just finished shooting was going to be pushed straight to video; now it appears it will be getting cinematic release after all. For a film that even its own producers had lost faith in, it's a very cynical turn-around.
