Subject: Fashion Changes from 1995-2000?

Written By: Silent Bob on 8/20/2001 at 7:56 p.m.

I'm being dead serious here. I can't tell of any signifcant fashion changes from 1995-2000. Seriously. I see hair style changes, mainly in the black guys. Hair style changes are pretty easy to spot. But otherwise, what I wore in '95, still seems acceptable today. Am I getting old? Usually its old people who can't tell whats "in" and whats "out".

In 1990, '91, I could see TONS of fashion changes from 1985-'90. It was so obvious. Maybey because back then I was still in school. I don't know. I've been in college since '95, and I honestly don't see the fashion changes. I suppose when you are in elementary, junior high, and high school, these changes are obvious.

But if there were changes, no one calls me on wearing many of the same clothes I wore 5 or 6 years ago. Maybey I just love 1995 so much, well I do, but it seems to further illustrate my point about the '90s being a decade where fashion moved rather slow. In the '80s, it seems that fashion and hair styles changed every 2 years. 1980 was different from 1982. 1984 was not like 1986. 1988, '89 was not like '86 or '87. The '80s were constantly changing in fashion and hairstyles, keeping things intresting.

Am I right, or am I just out of it?

hey "silent bob"
maybe you were just a very, very hip guy in the 90s and that's why you can get away with wearing the same things as 5or6 years ago!! who knows... but honestly i don't think we've really changed, i think we're going backwards. like all the 70s styles are coming back even stronger(bellbottoms, halters...etc) actually, the 90 were a little boring as far as fashion. it was like wear big jeans and t's and you're cool. anyway....

I see some definite changes in fashion from 95 to 2000. I graduated in 95 and if anyone wore the 80s fashion that's in style now, they would have been laughed at. There have also been some changes in young women's wear, the stuff the highschoolers are wearing. Britney has a huge impact, as well as Destiny's Child.

Overall though, alot of stuff that I wore in Highschool is still acceptable now.

I don't. Not really, except some hairstyle changes here and there. But even then, that Jennifer Aniston hairdo is still popular as it was in '94.

I graduated high school in '95 as well. '92-'97 are my favorite years of the '90s. Starting with '98, I have not liked anything really, in terms of music. What '80s fashions are there now? I'm out of it, I can't really spot anything, it still looks just as retro-'70s as it always was in the '90s.

Probably true, I don't know.

Hey! This is what I said! And you kinda disagreed with me, but now you agree with my original point. Nearly everything I wore in 1995 is still acceptable! Crap, I still wear stuff from '93, and no one blinks, well at least they don't say anything. It doesn't look too early or mid '90s. I could NEVER have done this with the '80s. No way in hell I could walk around wearing something from 1983 or 1985 in 1990 or '91. Not without being a joke. Fashions just seemed to be really stagnant in the whole '90s. But maybey I've just been out of it since high school.
