Subject: Electronic Music
G'day there my name is Ashley Schofield,I am from Sydney, Australia. This is the first time i have posted a message on the 90's page. Being an 80's child i have progressed through that decade with fond memories, started Djing on the side about 14 years thus far. I moved into the electronic music movement and stayed with it. This would probably surprise some 80's fans. The majority of 90's fans that leave comments, are into groups. I am interested to know if there are others, that also dig the sounds of Trance, house, Techno etc. I'm sure there is.
Please responed
Cheers

Ashley, good to know there's at least one other Sydneysider visiting this board. Even though our personal music tastes are pretty far apart (I'm into the more metallic end of the scale) I have to say that the electronic spectrum seems to be getting a lot more interesting and I don't mind some of the grooves that the artists you mentioned are cutting, particularly the local variety. Just out of curiousity, does the Australian dance scene get much exposure in the rest of the world? It certainly deserves to.

Not really, for the obvious reason Europe is saturated with Dance. It's hard to get a break regardless of your location. Pocket however, release impressive material and are held in high esteem with the English crowd, Pee wee Ferris made a track called "Genesis" which is in the Euro trance genre. Quench did the cool track "Dreams" which has been flogged and remixed by everyone (Hope they get royalties still). Endorphin and Sonic Animation are popular locally, but breaking into the oversease market is another issue. Viscous Vinyl in melbourne release lots of good progressive house, with an artist called Ocean Wave. I actually dj on the side, so i buy tracks not nessecarily from groups, but solo artist and one offs. Is it hot where you are? man it's a stinker today.
Cheers
