this is a long shot.. the only lyrics i can even remember are "it reminded me of us.." then he sings on either "do do do do do" or "you you you.." i only hear it on a dish station, they never say the name.. i hear it in a public place so i can never fully hear the song..

The only song I can think of that goes: "...do do do do do..." is a song called "Doot Doot" by Freur (released in 1984, I think), but I haven't heard that song in over 10 years (!). Then, there's The Police song, but that's waaaay too easy...
