Subject: Christian Death vocals
Anyone familiar with this old 80s band? I just got their album "Catastrophe Ballet" - a re-release, remastered version (1999). I was wondering who sings in this album: Valor (the new lead singer) or Rozz Williams (their former, defunct lead singer). This album sounds really good, but the inside sleeve doesn't really say who sings it. I'm led to believe it's Valor (although I've heard him on the "Pornographic Messiah" album and he sounds bad). Personally, I think it's Rozz Williams, but who knows? It may just be Valor trying to recapture the band's old sound...Any info would be appreciated.

Not exactly within my area of experience although I do have a couple of their records. Do the liner notes advise which year the original version was released?

The liner notes has pictures of both Rozz Williams and Valor, the lyrics to the songs, and a really bizarre highlight of a short story. The last page has a 1999 copyright date. It goes further to state: "Lyrics by Rozz Williams. Music by Valor." (Is there a difference between "music by" and "vocals by"? Because the liner notes fails to differentiate between the two. I know Rozz wrote the lyrics, but who sang them?
The album/cd cover is light-blue (the margins) with a picture of a female (with an expression of fear/screaming), covered in some sort of powder, lying in a bed (off-white sheets), and has a pitch-black background. It is the same, exact cover used for the original album (I think it was in the late 80s), except that the cover is pink (the margins). I never actually had a chance to listen to that version...
Usually, I'm not into this type of style of music, but the vocals are REALLY good, especially songs like "The Drowning" and "The Blue Hour." I'm curious as to who this singer is and how I can get more of his works. I own some other Christian Death albums, but they don't lead me to a direct conclusion - it could be either Rozz or Valor.
