: In other Rush news, while plugging his book on a N.Y.C.
: talk show last Thursday, David Wild, an editor for Rolling
: Stone magazine and one of the individuals who casts votes
: to induct artists into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, said
: that as far as the induction of Rush was concerned "it
: ain't ever gonna happen. Regardless of their success, Rush
: has never achieved critical acclaim and no one will ever
: vote for them." He also said "with the exception of 'Tom
: Sawyer', most of it gives me a headache." He later added

Subject: Re: RUSH
Rolling Stone has never been interested in anything innovative or interesting. They're a boring old institution that merely exists as a cash bucket for unwanted record company money, pandering to popular artists so that their labels will spend a fortune in advertising. Ignoring a band like Rush after a thirty year-career simply because they've never had a number one hit record is as good an excuse as any for Rolling Stone. The number of artists they've panned only to shower with glory the moment their single goes Top 5 is countless.
