Subject: Music you listened to in the 90s?
Two words to describe music in the 90s: NO LIMITS, like the song ;)
There was dance, techno, r&b (when it was actually good to listen to), Alternative rock, hiphop...just too many!
For me, it was alot of fun because I would listen to different music styles at once! I was addicted to dance and Alternative rock.
Subject: Re: Music you listened to in the 90s?
I listened to alot of Alternative,R&B,and Dance. But I know I leaned more towards the whole grunge/Alternative scene. I also went thru my Country Western phase. But that only lasted a year or so. ;) ::) :P

i listened to a lot of new jack swing back in my early elementary school days, but around 2nd and 3rd grade i got into MTV and since then ive never limited myself to any one genre of music, i liked the dance music, hip hop, r&b(i wish hip hop soul would come back), "alternative" rock, doesnt matter, i just like music and don't worry about genres.

Hole (only liked "Girl with the most cake")
Foster & Lloyd
Mission of Burma

The Pixies were tops in my book. However they disbanded around what? 1992-1993. Anyway. Great band. Rumors of an reunion going around. Also listened to,
Smashing Pumpkins
Verve
My Bloody Valentine
Sugar
Dinosaur Jr.
Janes Addiction
Auteurs
Pavement
Surprisingly, I didn't get on the whole "grunge" band wagon. Not heavily into Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, etc...

The 90's were all over the place in terms of music for me.
Altern rock (sorry to use the term, but have no other way to describe), ambient, trip-hop, shoegrazer (sp?) stuff, acid jazz and some retro deep funk...

Subject: Re: Music you listened to in the 90s?
I was only 6 when 1990 kickstarted, but from an early age I was totally addicted to music.
Durning the early 90s I liked all the boyband poppy outfits, and then all the old skool dance music (Real McCoy, Robin S, Livin' Joy etc...)
By the mid 90s, I was totally into the indie scene and Britpop. Oasis, Blur, Bluetones, Shed Seven, Ocean Colour Scene, Suede, James - the list goes on and on! I still absolutly love this type of music now.
Late 90s, music started going bad, and again as a teenager I was sucked into adoration of pop outfits such as the Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls *shudders*. But I also started liking R&B and rock music. This was when I conciously really started getting into the 80s also.
Nowadays, I love listening to all the songs I loved as a child. There really were some fantastic songs in the 90s, they were just intertwined with all the crap that was also about!

Am I the only one into The Toadies on this board?Their"Rubberneck"CD is way cool and worth a listen. Their song "Possum Kingdom" and it's accompanying video were some weird stuff. The song starts off with the line "Make up your mind, decide to walk with me,around the lake tonight, around the lake tonight,by my side. As the song unfurls, the song's villain talks about his twisted plan of what he's gonna do to his companion. And the video has stuff like body bags and creepy scenery to go along with the twisted lyrics, intercut with footage of the band performing. Word to the wise-Don't listen to this CD near your bedtime, you might wake up screaming from a Toadies-induced nightmare! Another thing that I think is cool about the band-they have a gal-bass player Lisa Umbarger and she rocks just as hard as the guys!
