1.  I was wondering if anybody can help me find a copy of the song by Master Well, called "When I Was a Sperm"?  A rather amusing one hit wonder. :P

2.  What other '90s one hit wonders do you remember? ;)

Here's a few to add to the list (and I'm pretty sure these are one hit wonders):
"Your Woman" White Town
"Cantaloop" US 3
"Save Tonight" Eagle Eye Cherry
"Zoot Suit Riot" Cherry Poppin Daddies
"Girl Like You" Edwyn Collins
"Naked Eye" Luscious Jackson
"Better days" Citizen King
"She's so High" Tal Bachman

These i wouldnt consider one hit wonders as I have heard several songs from each band on the radio. (Verve had Sonnet, Lucky Man, Drugs Dont Work... although not as big as Bittersweet symphony) And the B-Hole Surfers had "Dracula From Houston" and "Shame of life"

It could be in different countries some songs were bigger than others... or weren't even released there

Here are some of my favorite 90s one hit wonders that I remember. One hit and that was it for all of these, as far as I know  8) :

-The Mummer's Dance- Loreena McKennitt. A wonderful and entrancing song, but never heard anything else from her again.

-The Hooch- Everything

-Absolutely (Story of a Girl)- Nine Days (well, more 00s than late 90s)

-Precious Little- Eleanor McEvoy (great song, btw)

-Your Woman- White Town (almost forgot about this one til I found it on a mix tape I made. very bizarre but cool song)

-How Bizarre- OMC

That's my two cents worth.  :)

Maybe that might qualify as a/n "00s one-hit wonder", but who knows, maybe they might have another hit before they disband.

Back on topic -- I just thought of some more:
"Hippychick" Soho -- that song begins exactly the same way as "How Soon Is Now" by the Smiths
"I'm Too Sexy" Right Said Fred
"Don't Wanna Fall in Love" Jane Child
"Black Velvet" Alannah Myles
"One More Try" Timmy T.
"Would I Lie To You Baby" Charles and Eddie
"Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand" Primitive Radio Gods"
"Hell" Squirel Nut Zippers

Didn't Alannah Myles have more than one hit off of her self titled album? "Still Got This Thing", "Love Is", "Lover of Mine"

Was "Superman's Song" a hit for the Crash Test Dummies? or "Peter Pumpkinhead"?

It's so hard to know.. ??? ...there were lots of bands that were considered one hit wonders but in my small little world I considered them to have tons of hits!!  ;D

Oh my god, if I ever have to hear the Macarena again I swear I will tear my own ears off!!!!!

By the time that song started to die out, I was at the point where I would almost start crying out of frustration because it was on, again.

I would rather perform dentistry on myself than listen to some of the one hit wonders of the 90s, like the Macarena because they were so played out.

On the other hand, some of the songs were really great! The ones I like have been named, like...
"bittersweet symphony"
"B*itch" which I still listen to today,
"song 2" by Blur
"scatman" by Scatman John
And who can forget " Mambo #5" by Lou Bega!!!!!!! I really liked that one mainly because my name is in it!! I actually have that CD and it is actually not bad. He has some good songs on it.

There are a lot more that I can't think of mainly because I just had a brain fart. But, oh well.

Do any of you happen to know what song it was in the 90's that it was a girl singing and the song went like:
Do you want a piece of my goody goody goody goody loooovin, do you want a piece of my goody goody goody goody loooovin, and then there was sort of like a rap in the middle?  It was like a pop song?  If you kow what I'm talking about, please let me know.
Thanks!

Siouxie and the Banshees - Kiss Them For Me (only hit they had stateside anyway)
3rd Bass - Pop Goes the Weasel (remember, these guys were supposed to be the only "real" white rappers?)
Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart (couldn't stand this song, one of the cues that country was going "top 40")
House of Pain - Jump Around (oh wait, THESE guys were the only "real" white rappers..)
Soup Dragons - Divine Thing (this song was huge, what happend to this band?)
Haddaway - What Is Love (can't hear this and not think of the SNL skit)

Meredith Brooks - B*tch (I'm a lover, I'm a saint, I'm a one hit wonder..)
New Radicals - You Get What You Give (liked this song because it sonded like it was a lost tune from the mid 80's)
Los Del Rio - Macarena (used to have contests with my friends to see who could listen the longest without their head exploding ie "Scanners")

The Breeders first album, "The Pod", came out in 1990. Their second album was "Last Splash" in 1993. Two singles were released off that album. "Cannonball" & "Divine Hammer". The Breeders finally released a third album in 2002 called "Title TK". I believe the single off that album was called "Off You". So they really aren't one hit wonders.

*Also, there are rumors that the Pixies are getting back together & going on tour this summer.

Maybe both VapourTrail (though I don't know or can verify that 'Peek A Boo" was a hit in the US)  & Kenlos are right (again, don't know if "My Favorite Game" was a hit in US, although it was a welcome addition in Gran Turismo 3. The video game. The Cardigans will state that the song was less then what they expected it to be on the charts. And the video was disturbing, but, I still love the band.)
I'm starting to think we need to define what a "hit" can be defined as....
And, No, I don't think Billboard charts are the defining reference, the charts are all to easy to manipulate..

you people all seem to be on the money.  I would have to agree with many opinions.  However i am looking for this song and one hit wonder band which i have no clue but i do remember the video was real boring with a square hole in the wall (and im not talking about that crazy bathtub "Pavement" video either).  There was a bald white singer and all the guys seemed european.  The song throughout is the same note on the guitar and bass.  It does not change at all whatsoever, just the singers melody. There are verses and choruses, nothing abstract It came out around 95 or 94, can anyone help? please this is driving me nuts.

I have a few!  I hope they aren't repeats -- I've read through the posts though, so I don't think so... Feel free to argue, as some of these are probably "pushing it."  Some may be from early 2000s as well (unintentionally).

Vitamin C -- "Graduation"
Jimmy Ray -- "Are You Jimmy Ray?"
Sixpence None the Richer -- "Kiss me" (they didn't write There She Goes, so I'm sticking with my opinion on this one)
Seal -- "Kiss from a Rose"
Train -- "Drops of Jupiter"
Aqua -- "Barbie Girl"
Serial Joe -- "Mistake"
Hanson -- "MMMbop"

1.) Seal is certainly NOT a one hit wonder at all. ::) He had lots of other hits: "Crazy", "Prayer For The Dying", "Don't Cry", "Human Beings", and in the 2000s: "Waiting For You" and "Loves Divine" (i think that's what it's called).
2.) The song "Drops Of Jupiter" is a 2000s song. Furthermore, Train has had a number of hits (including "Calling All Angels" and "When I Look To The Sky", both from last year). Their first one was "Meet Virginia" in 1999.
3.) Hanson is NOT a one hit wonder either. I know that "MMM bop" was their biggest hit, but they did have a few minor hits.
4.) I respect your opinion about Sixpence None The Richer, but "Kiss Me" is not their only hit. True, that may have been their only 90s hit (excluding "TSG"), but they have had a couple hits in the 00s like "Breathe Your Name" (2002). (The other one I can think of is "Don't Dream It's Over", but that, too, is a cover.)

This thread is supposed to be about one hit wonders of the 1990's. Are we clear now?
