ok so of course in the 90s, for Rock we had the grunge movement, but what about in the mid part, between Grunge and Neo-Metal/Rap Metal taking off. What did you like about this period?
some of my favorite songs are probably
Matchbox 20-Push
Gin Blossoms-Found out about you
311-Down
Green Day-Basket Case
Offspring-Self Esteem
Mighty Mighty Bosstones-The Impression that I get
Counting Crows-Mr. Jones
Collective Soul-Shine
Blink 182-Dammit(reminds me more of Green Day sound than Good Charlotte)

You forgot Filter. ;) Richard Patrick's group, after he and Brian Liesegang broke away from NIN. I really liked Filter, until they pussed out in the late 90s, with 'Title Of Record'. Horrible after that. the mid-90s was a short Industrial movement, overall, then 'rap-metal' and bubblegum pop took over. ::)

After 96 I listened to Foo Fighters, Everclear, Fuel, and 3rd Eye Blind. 98 I listened to R&B music when that was big for like year a year or too. Most of the music that came in the 2nd quarter of 1999 from then on does nothing for me. One hit wonders like Sun Volt, Mansun, Black Lab, and Sneaker Pimps I used to listen to them too. 1997 was cool too because of Depeche Mode and Faith No More. Faith No More had a good song with "Last Cup of Sorrow." I remember the music video a little too. Depeche Mode had hits like "Barrel of A Gun" and "Its No Good". Who can forget about the Verve with "Bitter Sweet Symphony" as well?
1998 was the year of R&B/Hip-Hop for me: Next hit it big with "Too Close, KIci & JoJo hit it big with "All My Life". Other R&B hits included Montell Jordan and Master P's "Lets Ride" Monica's "The First Night", and Faith Evans's "Love Like This". Usher was the man with hits like "My Way" and "Nice & Slow". Have to throw in Jennifer Paige's "Crush" in there. Whatever happened to her? Nice voice, she was nice looking. The label just didn't market her at all. I heard one of her other songs on Much Music in early 99. The song was called "Sober". I was really rooting for Jennifer Paige to hit it big. She just never did.
