Subject: toys from the 90's to remember

Written By: jd on 12/09/03 at 04:42 p.m.

was watching some of my video tapes that included 90's commercials in them...saw commercials for "Quints" it was a row of 5 baby dolls that each did something different...(did anyone really buy these or did people go broke trying to support them?)

And "Bottle Babys'" maybe they are still around -it was from 1991....

Enjoy that last flashback..

ahh yea super soakers were fun back then, they didn't look like laser guns and didn't shoot people from a football field away.

I remember someone getting a SuperSoaker 400 in 1994 or so. Everyone was excited that it could shoot across the street.  ::) My mom wouldn't let me get one because they were "dangerous", so I was stuck with my Super Soaker 80 or something like that.

Boy, I miss those times...

I also remember the 90s was when potty-training dolls were first created :o
My mom saw that, and she went, "You've gotta be kidding me!!!"  And it was mentioned by Dot in Animaniacs once:  "Actually, we're looking for a doll that goes potty, you got one?"  ;D

I have a question about toys that I think were from the 90s (maybe late 80s, not sure).  I remember my sister, who is now 24 (I'm only 16) playing with these things that were called pogs, at least I think were called pogs. I think they were little cardboard things and I remember some of them came from the tops of milk jugs as promotions.  Can anyone explain the purpose of these to me, and tell me when they were popular?  Thanks, you're a big help because this is for a school project!

I spent my wages on My Little Ponies, Pound Puppys, Pokemon, and Star Wars stuff.  My kids were/are collectors, they couldn't say Super Soakers, it was "Sooker Soaker."

Yes, Pogs. I remember those, they were popular in between the "Marble Fad" and "Tamagotchi Fad" at my school.

Checked around at Christmas..POGS seem to be coming back!

Here's a game probably from the 70's or 60's called KER-PLUNK!
You had marbles in a container that rested on pick-up-sticks and tried to remove the sticks one by one without having any marbles fall! It sure made me one jumpy kid!
Ahh memories!

QUINTS!! i LOVED those things!! and i did have the potty trianing baby! also that baby that you could feed- it was with a spoon that when you put it in the bowl- little pink platic balls would pop out of the spoon (i guess they were supposed to be berries or something) and when you touched the baby's lips to the spoon the pink berries would go back inside the spoon. what technology!

also the girl doll that rollerbladed. and does anyone remember the white dog that came with a leash- and when you pressed a button it moved. so i would go outside a walk that dog! lol! i thought i was so cool!

i feel like coloring books were really popular- but i guess its always popular.

also remember totally long hair barbie?! she had the coolest neon orange and pink dress!

oh and trolls were HUGE!! i had like 50! lol- all different colored hair- and the stones on the belly. i guess it was supposed to be good luck!

Baby Alive, that was my fav. doll when i was younger. You could feed her this gross baby food and she had diapers that you changed. So much fun for a girl.

Hey, whats up. I'm 16 as well, i remember pogs actually I still have some. Pogs are mid 90s 94-96 i would say. I got mine when I was about 9 they were big at that time and that would be 1996. They didn't last long however.
