Subject: Animaniacs
Since there seems to be a slight discussion about Animaniacs on the Tiny Toons thread, I thought I might start one specifically about Animaniacs. (I don't know if there is already one from long ago, but I'll start one anyway.)
So, here goes:
I must admit, I did enjoy watching it, even though I was a teenager when it debuted. My favorite characters were the Warners (Yakko, Wakko, Dot). One episode I really liked was when they did a parody of "Macarena" (I think it was called "Macadamia", like the nut.).
If any of you wanna talk about animaniacs, do so right here!
:)

I remember seeing The Macadamia Nut (I think that's the name) on Cartoon Network.

Yeah, Animanicas was on Cartoon Network for a while, now it's on Nicktoons TV.
The name is "The Macadamia Nut."

My favorite one is where Wakko has to got potty and has a hard time finding one. Funniest cartoon ever!

Yeah, those Warners were pretty funny. The Goodfeathers (those pigeons) were okay too. Every time Squit said something that Pesto didn't understand, they'd get into a fight. "You think I'm swell?" "Yeah." "Are you saying that..." "No, I was just saying..." "All right that's it! Here's your swell!" :D

I used to watch this show as well. I never figured out what the animaniacs were supposed to be? Are they dogs or something? I always felt bad for that old dude with the glasses they bothered all the time.

Old dude with the glasses? Are you talking about Dr. Scratchansniff?
Subject: Re: Animaniacs
Yeah, that dude.
Subject: Re: Animaniacs
I loved what the Warner Brothers and the Warner Sister did to Dr. Scratchansniff, especially when they first met him, you know, when he lost his hair! ;D
Pinky and the Brain were good too, well they had to be to get their own show! ;)

Yesterday on Nicktoons TV they had the episode where the Warners went to a garage sale and asked the owner how much for his garage. :D I thought that was so funny! That's how I like to interpret "garage sale" too, even though I know that it means "sale of items in your garage", but ... it was just too funny.
The one after that was when the Goodfeather pigeons fought the sparrows for the Martin Scorsese statue and Squit fell for a bird named "carloota" (sp?); I didn't really care for that one.

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks like that. My family says the same thing about yard sales. But, back on topic, that is a funny episode.

Pinky and the Brain were way cool, I used to sing the theme song all the time.

I liked the episode with Slappy Squirrel where she and Skippy tried to go get some rest but were disturbed by the WoodStock rock concert. Then they went into an Abbott and Costello routine over the name of the band that was performing (The Who). (Slappy: "What's the name of the band?" Skippy: "Who!" Slappy: "The name of the band!") Then they crashed the whole show just so they could get some peace and quiet.

Great show, very well written and very sly, if you consider what they got away with..
For example..there was this one episode when the Warners went back in time to visit Mozart. They did their usual thing and Mozart yelled at them, "I AM A VERY BUSY PIANIST!!!" The Warners gasped and Yakko pulled out a sponge and started scrubbing Mozart's tongue, saying "Naughty Mozart, potty mouth!"
Or how about the song Lake Titicaca..
Lake Titicaca, oh Lake Titicaca
It's between Bolivia and Peru
Lake Titicaca, oh Lake Titicaca
With waters tranquil and blue.
Oh Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca
Why do we sing of its fame?
Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca
'Cause we really like saying its name! Titicaca!
Lake Titicaca, Lake Titicaca.
Why are getting away with singing this song?
Silly childish stuff, but funny, I can even remember my mom giggling at the shows funnier gags.

I don't understand the whole Slappy Squirrel "You remind me of a young..." sayings when she beats up the wolf or some other animal/person.
Sally Field, Michael Jackson,etc?
I still don't get it?
Well maybe Michael Jackson (Who's always parodied or made fun of) , but Sally Field?

I, too, was in my teens while the show was on; I first watched it (not by choice) in October of 1997 while in the waiting room at the doctor's office. Anyways, the episode that was on was when the Warners were in "school" and they made a joke out of the things that Miss Flamiel tried to teach them. First they were going to learn the Pledge of Allegiance and Flamiel told them to "repeat after me."
I've watched it a few times since; the Warners did/said some pretty funny stuff. I, too, have seen the "Macadamia Nut" episode; that was one of my favorites.

Yeah, I've seen that one too.

Animaniacs was the best show when I was little next to Barney, Arthur, Aladdin, and Where in the world is carmen sandiego.
