I loved that cartoon. My favourite turtle was Raphael because he was the most sarcastic.
Any opinions welcome. :D

That show was soo great. I had some toys of it! I liked Leonardo the best too.
I think its still on tv here because the other day I was going to bed at like 6 am and the turtles were on.
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I think the turtles have had a bit of a renaissance as of late. It's great that kids get another chance at watching them.
When I was a kid I fancied April O Neil. :-[

Heroes in a half-shell!
Woo-hoo.
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
There must be some sort of revival because my local radio station was talking about the names of all the turtles the other day. They could remember Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo. Somebody phoned in to put them out of their misery.

Turtle Power! ;D
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I remember two songs that hit the charts climbing on the backs of The Turtles status. One was 'Turtle Power' by Partners in Kryme which was a one-hit wonder and the other was 'Spin that wheel (turtles get real) by Hi-tek 3 and Ya kid K.
Does anybody remember these songs that came out in 1990?

Me too! I've still got the Nintendo game and I remember being addicted to the arcade game too. It's the only arcade game I've ever wasted more than $5 on. Wow, this brings back memories...lol... :D

I never beat the arcade game, but I saw someone else beat it.
I also never beat the Nintendo version either. I always got to the second level where you had to destroy those road block things and I couldn't find the missles to destroy them. I would always end up turning off the game after not being able to find anymore missles. Hmm, something to do before I die: Beat the game!
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
oh man today I watched it. I had forgotten all those funny expressions like "dudette" and "we're all going to bite the burrito"(meaning die) and "radical"
this was an episode about a comet aproaching, a stolen rubi and michaelangelo being some kind of egypt god turtle.
haha
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Yeah, that show was great! I remember using my mom's old makeup compacts and pretending they were "turtle-coms." I recently saw one of the newer episodes...and they dont call them "turtle coms" anymore!! it's now referred to as a "shell cell!" haha
oh, and i always fancied michaelangelo! i always used to tell my friends that if he were a real guy, that all the women would flock to him..

Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I liked those side-kicks with Shredder who had hip-hop names. Their names were Be-bop and Rocksteady. Ha! Ha!
I remember a man in sports gear called 'Casey Jones'. Was he in the cartoon as well as the film?
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Yeah, Casey Jones was in the cartoons.
What was the name of the White Samurai Rabbit that was on the later episodes? I think he had his own comics, too.
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
ive not seen that show in ages! my favorates were leonardo and michealangilo (sp?)

I remember that the film version was "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", but the cartoon was known here in the UK as "Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles", as they didn't believe the word "Ninja" should be used in a kids programme!
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
but even if they changed the title, the word was still used in the show, right? ;)

I thought it was quite funny that he didn't do anything. The big body he was controlling with levers did. He also had that irritating whiney voice as well.

I was a mild Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan. I watched the show every Saturday morning. I think I started watching because everyone else I knew was, but I ended up growing to like it. I never saw the movie in the theatre, but I did rent it after it came out on video. I don't remember who my favorite Turtle was. Maybe Raphael? ???
There were two boys in my class who were totally obsessed with TMNTs in 2nd-3rd grade. Everything was associated with the Turtles--homework, art projects, etc. My favorite memory of this obsession was in second grade when we colored pictures of groundhogs for Groundhog Day, and the boys gave their groundhogs masks around their eyes so they would look like the Turtles. One had red for Raphael, and I don't remember the other one. It was pretty hilarious though! :)

I agree; I've started seeing TMNT action figures and other merchandise at Target and Wal-Mart lately.
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
yeah, they have new cartoons out. it's not as great as the old ones, though! ;D
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I hate to bring this up,
but did you know that in the new comics(but not the new cartoons), Splinter died? :o :'(
I read it on their official site( www.ninjaturtles.com in the comics section). Really shocked me when I read it.
I went to the comics shop and bought the issue. Turns out that Casey Jones and April O'Neil are now married! A whole lot of changes recently... wow
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
wow, man, that totally sucks!
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I still have the originals movies, some of the cartoons and a couple of action figures.
Today's Turtles are different, meaner lookin' and don't hold the same "charm" as the original. :P
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I watched one of the new ones, and I didn't hear one 80s slang word in the whole episode! That sucked!!

Try and get a watch of the old cartoons, Gilligan - They were great. Much better than 'Samurai Pizza Cats'. ;D
As for Splinter dying and April/Casey marrying well . . . What's with that?
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I love the Turtles! Raph was my fave because he was such a wise guy. The new Turtles isn't as good because they've given all the good lines to Mikey. I loved the movies. My best friend and I went to see the second one in the theater because, I'm ashamed to admit, Vanilla Ice made a cameo.

GO NINJA GO NINJA GO!!
Subject: Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I have to admit, I did watch the Ninja Turtles from time to time. Though I'm 28 now, so when they first hit the scene in the late 80's, I was about 12 years old, and getting a bit too old to be into "kid crazes". Well, at least publicly. When they peaked in 1989 and 1990, I was already 14 and 15, and way too old for the kid craze thing. Though secretly I did watch the occasional Turtle episode, and I remember LOVING the arcade game that came out in the late 80's.
The reason the Turtles were so good was because like all the really great things, they were originally from the 1980's,...1987 to be exact. The 90's get to claim the Turtles because their run and heyday was mostly in the early and mid 90's, but I remember when they came out in the late 80's.
I still think the best time for kid crazes was the 1980 to 1986/'87 time, that's when all the really cool stuff was around.....like The Transfromers, and M.A.S.K., Voltron, G.I. Joe, Punky Brewster, A-Team, Knight Rider, Empire and Jedi, Raiders and Temple of Doom, Atari and early Nintendo, etc, etc...

I love the Ninja Turtles, however the New Ninja Turtles is garbage, I'm talking about the Fox Box.
