Believe it or not, Madonna and Michael Jackson successfully crossed-over into the 90's as icons and remained so throughout the decade. Of course, MJ's icon status went from positive to severely negative. :P
Anyway...
I think Tom Hanks makes a good 90's Hollywood icon.

Pacers-Knicks who will ever forget Reggie Miller scoring 8 points in 7 seconds or something like that in Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference finals and then Patrick Ewing missing that layup at the end of Game 7 of the 95 Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers. Knicks-Pacers were always games you had to watch.

97-98 Ford Mustang
94-97 Honda Accord(people did call this car a flop because it was the worst selling Accord ever but I think it is a car that defines the decade of the 90's.) I remember when it came out I thought it looked great to me and still looks good. Some other people thought this was the best looking Accord ever. For the record the 96-97 Accord was the best looking Accord ever in my opinion.
