Does anyone know any important stuff that happened in 1994 (like national/global events, sports, music, fashion, music videos, toys, TV, prices, slang/cool phrases)

Well, sportywise...

The Rockets defeated the Knicks to win the NBA title for the first time and ruin Patrick Ewing's best chance at a championship.

Steve Young totally threw down in the Super Bowl to win MVP honors and the 49ers won their 5th championship.

The Rangers beat the Canucks to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 40 plus years (points at Jonman and laughs ;D)

There was no World Series that year because ballplayers decided to suck :P

And I survived my freshman year of high school without so much as one upper-classman delivered wedgie ;D

Ninety-four..I was a senior in high school..seemed like a depressing year really. The last true year you could even pretend that the 80s weren't that long ago. I am a huge baseball fan so that year just stunned me..but greed always prevails. My sox could have played the freaking EXPOS in the WS that year. The Expos were drawing an average of 24,000 a game in Montreal..now they're lucky to get 2,400. Jacqqeline Kennedy Onasis died..Richard Nixon died..Cobain shot himself..and 2 people were killed in Los Angeles by a "real killer". The next year some ex-football player got away with murder. I think Bob Ross..the PBS painter died that year..maybe it was 95..not sure but I loved that show when I was a kid.

I went to the link Princesa gave, and I was looking at the features from 1993 in the Music category and came across Robin S.'s "Show Me Love". It reminded me of Robyn's "Show Me Love" from later in the decade.....

Anyway, I digress. 1994 was the year of The Lion King, OJ, Forrest Gump, Jim Carrey, me going into sixth grade, the return of John Travolta, Kurt Cobain's suicide and the impending end of grunge, the non-baseball season >:(, POGs, Power Rangers, Nancy and Tonya, the California fires, Ace of Base, Lisa Loeb, Michael and Lisa-Marie and Demi Moore's last hit movie.

Words that were used in '94( and still are, alot of them!)

Blazin'
Phat
As if
Bangin'
Cool beans

Oh god, remember All For One? They did a bunch of covers in the mid-90's and were like Boyz 2 Men rip-offs.

Nearly every girl was wearing babydoll dresses and had a WonderBra. Most guys had pump-up sneakers and baggy jeans.

Are you like doing a report on 1994 or something?

I'm not so sure about that.  I remember I was going through my own personal "80's revival" around 1993 and 1994, and in those years a friend of mine who was just a couple of years younger then me would always act like the 80's were so before his time and total ancient history.  (yes even the late 80's, which was only 4-5 years ago at the time)

I think the last true year you could pretend that the 80's weren't that long ago and get away with listening to Depeche Mode or something was 1991 or 1992.  Because the 80's were clearly old hat by 1993.

1994 was the first year that I heard the internet/web being mentioned in mainstream culture on a regular basis.  I mean it was around before '94, but I never heard much of it in the mainstream culture.  Though it probably wasn't until 1999 that nearly everyone became a net user.

Okay, here's the best way to know what life was like in the mid-1990's.

Watch My So-Called Life, Clueless, and Empire Records. They are SO mid-90's.

Ooh, remember mini-backpacks? All my sisters and their friends had those.
