Subject: question
Darn it why did all this teen crap come up like nystink eminem and all of them when do you think well all go back to the 80s???????btw whats the best song from the 80s
Subject: Re: question
Well, to my knowledge, N'sync and Eminem did not come up in the 90s. The Backstreet boys did, they first came up in 95' I believe.
Eminem became popular around 00' and 01' from what I can remember, which was not so long ago.
Subject: Re: question
I think Eminem became popular in '99 cause "My Name Is" came out my sophmore year in High School and that was in '98-'99. I hated that song. Though I do like some of his newer stuff.

Yeah, they came out after. However, I beleive that B Boys made a bigger impact in the UK first, whereas Nsync did in the States. Then there was some confusion over who actually 'came out first'. In The UK - the Backstreet Boys first hit was in June '96, whereas Nsync's was in September '97 (although it didn't do very weel and was consequently re-released in '99) . Hope that clears it up for you :)

I first remember hearing 'N Sync in early 1998.

Yeah N'SYNC and BSB were total Late 90's. This explains why my own personal enjoyment of the 90's never went beyond 1996. I graduated high school in 1993, and "my 90's" that I liked and related too were the Early-Mid 90's....back in the "good ol' days" of Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, Boyz II Men, and Alanis Morrisette. I have never liked the teeny bubblegum pop cr*p of the Late 1990's like Britney Spears, BSB, and N'SYNC.
I didn't like NKOTB when they were popular, so I guess I will never come over to the dark side of boy bands/girl bands. I can't stand it that it's still going strong today. For God's sake when will it end? It's like it's going on forever.

I think it's definitely on the wane.

All the stuff started with the Spice Girls and Hanson in 97 and their sucess carried over to the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync. I think the teen-pop trend did hit it big when Britney Spears came out though. 97-98 was Puff Daddy and Mase dominating the charts. The Backsteeet Boys were formed in 1993 by Lou Pearlman. Lou Pearlman saw the fancy stuff New Kids On the Block had thats when he had the idea to form the Backstreet Boys. Eminem became big in early 99 but I really don't think he really blew up until he disssed Christina Aguilera in a song. The teen-pop stuff is dead anyway and has been dead for 2+ years. People still like Eminem.
