I think it was in mid November 1993, around the 17th or 18th. No I wasn't there but I was in NYC that day. It seemed unusually cold for a November evening, felt more like January.
To me, the night of Nirvana unplugged was when the 90's peaked, music wise and culture wise.

Either MTV or VH1 replayed it over the holidays. I hadn't seen that performance in such a long time. I still love their version of "The Man Who Sold The World." With the release of "You Know You're Right", it reminded me of how great a band they really were.
I was lucky enough to get to seem them live in Phoenix, the first show on the In Utero tour about a month before. Mudhoney opened up for them. It's still eerie to think that within six months he would be gone. I hadn't been to many other shows before that one and I still remember how exciting it was.
