Written By: Kenlos on 01/21/03 at 04:45 p.m.

I looked through and happened to notice that there wasnt one for best album of the 90s or atleast i didnt see one.  I actually have two, one is the album "Dookie" by Green Day and the other is "Nevermind" by Nirvana.  Just wondering what other people think?

All mentioned are great, but the crown goes to Pearl Jam's 10.

I would have to give my vote to "August and Everything After" by Counting Crows.  There is not one bad song on the whole album.

I would also suggest "Cracked Rear View" by Hootie & the Blowfish.  And on the country side, "No Fences" by Garth Brooks.

i'd have to say smash by the offspring and fush yu mang by smash mouth tie for me...even though their cover of "why can't we be friends?" gets annoying, i'm lying if i say that i absolutely hate that song.

The best album of the 90s to me, would be "Wild Orchid" by Wild Orchid. The album has a little bit of everything, dance, reggae, soul, pop. It's the perfect album with the perfect music and perfect voices.

There are too many really good albums from the 90s. To choose just one, I'd pick Savage Garden.

No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom

The Wallflowers - Bringing Down the Horses

Guess I kind of have to agree there.  I actually got to see them in concert over the summer and it was Ed Rolands birthday so they gave him a small b-day party up on the stage so that was really cool.

Glad to see the amount of people leaning towards '10', I must say it comes as close as an album can to perfection.  That said, what about 'Dummy' by Portishead?

:-/

I was just listening to that album the other night.  Not only one of the best 90's albums, but best debut albums too.  I thought I read a few weeks back that Portishead was finally going to release their next one soon.  Beth Gibbons' album is good too, she has a wonderful voice.

Everyone has their own idea of what is good as far as music is concerned.
Some of the posts I agree with wholeheartedly. Others, it would take a substantial amount of cash to get me to sit and listen to for an hour.
Like most everyone else I can't say I have a favorite (favourite for you Aussies and Brits) album of the 90's.
But some of my picks would be:

Alice In Chains - Dirt & Jar of Flies

Pearl Jam - 10 (of course)

Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger, Superunknown, Down On the Upside

Stone Temple Pilots - Twelve Gracious Melodies

Staind - Dysfunction
