Subject: Favorite cover of the 90's
My favorite cover song was Rocks by Primal Scream. I also liked Orgy's cover of Blue Monday.
What about the rest of you?
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
I thought 'Rocks' was one of their original tunes (even if it's a very obvious rip off of the stones ;)
the best cover version of the 90's was China Drum's cover of Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights....pogo-tastic mate :D
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
Love Spit Love's version of How Soon Is Now. A brilliant cover song.
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
"Can't Get Enough of You Baby" by Smash Mouth. Originally done in the 1960's by ? & the Mysterians.
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
I don't know what my favorite is, but I can tell you what the worst is...the cover of Alphaville's "Forever Young."
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
Good Covers of the 90's: Dancing Days-Stone Temple Pilots(originally done by Zepplin), and Never Gonna Give You Up-Lisa Stansfiled(originally done by Barry White), and I'll Be There-Mariah Carey/Trey Lorenz(originally done by Jackson 5.)

I absolutely LOVE Gilby Clarke's version of The Stones' "Dead Flowers"....killer!
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
I think "99 Luftballoons (99 RED BALLOONS)" BY Goldfinger was a good cover.
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
THE SUNDAYS doing The Stones' "Wild Horses"
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
Guns N' Roses cover of Paul McCartney & Wings' "Live & Let Die", I guess.
I blocked-out most 90's music. ;D
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
I don't know...maybe Jaki Graham's cover of Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" ??? Diana King's is okay too but I think I like Jaki's better..
I think I've mentally blocked out a lot of 90's music as well...

You gotta be kidding! The first time I watched "Our Lips Are Sealed" I thought, "Man, who is that destroying that song?!". Yuck!

I am not kidding, I really like it. I was like who's making this song better? why it's Goldfinger. Who is making a kickass 80's tribute album (even the non remakes sounded 80's)? It's goldfinger. Maybe if you had heard it anywhere else first besides a Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen movie (Like while playing Gran Turismo) you would like it better.

Umm Manics Cover of Train In Vain by The Clash.

Though I have always been a loyal Simon and Garfunkel fan, I have to admit that I enjoyed The Lemonheads' cover of "Mrs. Robinson" from the American Pie 2 movie.

OOPS! Destiny's Child didn't do that song in the 90s; it was 2001. I realized that just after I posted it.
Subject: Re: Favorite cover of the 90's
The Black Crowes cover of Otis Redding's Hard to Handle.
I second Nirvana's cover of Bowie's Man Who Sold the World
Can't really think of too many others, I don't think the 90s was the best year for covers, because they would either completely copy the song without giving any new dimensions to it, or we would just have a techno beat or a bit of rap thrown in there to 'update' it.
Ugh.

Probably " The Man Who Sold The World" By Nirvana
