Subject: THE Simpsons

Written By: DAVIDFAME on 04/30/02 at 09:28 p.m.

Have you ever notice in some  of the tv cartoon of The Simpsons that Homer sometimes don't know who he is tslking to. For instance he knows Abule the Grocery owner and he calls him by his first name then other times he does not know him or he does not say any of the first name caraters that has been on the show  for a long time.  Or does any one know what I  am takeing about. ;D

When Mr Burns gets the names wrong: Marge, Homer, Lisa, Maggie, and Brat (sic), Homer chimes in with a "Don't argue with the man, Brat", or words to that effect.

Sometimes they just don't mention the names - on Summer of 4'2" featuring Erin, Homer immediately seems to act like the person in the shop is someone he knows - when ordering the fireworks.

I just think it happens to be a matter of whether the writers include the names of the characters within the speech.

Also just remembered - when the bum (okay, tramp) says to look under the frame, for the drawing of the Itchy animation cell he says it to Brad (mispronunciation of Bart).

That should do for now, I'll think of more later.

What about when Mr. Burns is a vampire and says to Bart  Why look, it's little...Boy"  While we're on the subject...have you ever noticed how they keep cutting things out of the show in repeats...and not just during a 1st re-run but when that same episode comes up again they have slaced more out? >:( I just bought the 1st season with everything intact so at least we can always watch the DVD's with the full episodes.

They're never cut over here second/third/seventh time round... even after all of those repeats.

There seem to be some amazing inconsistencies in the Simpsons sometimes, and other times they're spot on. Mr Burns' age changes quite a lot. Sometimes Smithers is allergic to bees, and sometimes he isn't! As to Homer's predilection for forgetting things, he's a self-obsessed boor most of the time, so sometimes he probably does forget who he's talking to, or doesn't care.

Mr. Burns is 104 years old, although in one episode he is quoted as saying "I'm only 81" - this, however, is surely untrue.

Nah, I don't speak Spanish. I guess the easiest way to see it is that there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of Spanish simpsons fans. A lot of JPGs exist in Spanish Simpsons sites.
