Of course Amy Winehouse had a bit more artistic gravitas than 1980s shopping mall creation "Tiffany".

I feel that if 'you' have sung a song many times over a career, the lyrics are implanted in 'you', for instance, I use to sing karaoke (gave up when my voice went), having various favourite songs, and I can recall the lyrics instantly.

Similar to a musician, 'you' learn a piece and it sticks with 'you'.

I went to see Tommy James & The Shondells in the late '80s. When they started singing "I Think We're Alone Now," my niece who was 12 at the time and her best friend said, "They stole this from Tiffany."
