My favourite year for music! I was only 9 years old, but well into the music scene.
Apart from my 3 big albums - Five Star, Whitney Houston, The Jets - this was a big fave in 1985...

I remember all of these songs! Great choices. In '85 My mom use to watch the music videos and she would allow me to watch with her. I would add How will I know by Whitney Houston to the list of songs. :)

I was only 7 in 1985, but the memories of songs you hear on the radio do stick with you. Of what was out that year, one of my favourite songs is called Close My Eyes by an Alberta-born singer named Paul Janz. I don't believe it was a hit outside of Canada, but it should have been! This song always takes me back to the good times I had as a child in the 80s

Here is one called Wave Babies by Honeymoon Suite. This one has a local connection to me as the music video was filmed on a ferry and beach that are about a 45 minute drive from where I live. I don't ride that ferry often, but whenever I do, I play this song in my car! I started collecting 45's in the 90s, and this song was the first one I ever bought simply based on the memories I have going to that beach as a child and hearing this song!

Great album. One of my 1985 favorites. Always reminded me of going to the Bridge when I was a kid.

"Rock me Amadeus" by Falco
I have a vivid memory of watching the music videos for "Rock me Amadeus" and "One Night in Bangkok" in my friend's living room and we were arguing over whether Emmanuel Lewis was the author of Webster's dictionary (I'm sure we weren't the only '80s kids that had this discussion. "Seriously, I saw on Entertainment Tonight that the kid who plays Webster is a lot older than he looks!" lol)

Great song written by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits fame, but the Tina Turner single was released on October 28th 1984.
