Subject: Who would you have liked to have met in the 80s?
Written By: violet_shy on 05/10/20 at 6:26 pm
We all know there was no social media in the 80s, but if there would have been, who would you have followed or wanted to meet?
I would have loved to have met:
Duran Duran
Keith Coogan
Jon Bon Jovi
Exposé

I did get to meet Micky Dolenz when he came into my workplace, but that was in the late 1970s. I think he was over here in London setting up to produce the children's television show "Metal Mickey".

My encounter was only brief, no real time for a chat, and under the circumstances was pleasant and gave a welcoming smile.

Under the same circumstances, I did get to meet Bob Marley, he was very charming.

If an event does occur, do not ask her for her autograph, she hates signing autographs.

I actually met a celebrity in the 80s. Well, at the time, he wasn't the legend he is now. His name is Kirk Muller, and he is a hockey player who played 19 seasons in the NHL, but for one summer early in his NHL career, he lived on my street and one day, me and a bunch of neighbourhood kids were playing street hockey. He and his buddies asked if they could play, we said sure, and they played like it was an actual NHL game. We were just kids and they were body checking us making slap shots like they were in the Stanley Cup finals.

Prince sounds like a nice person to talk to, I'm pretty sure he would've had loads of stories to tell.

Maurice Starr. I would just have liked to sit down and talked to him about what it was like for him working with NKOTB. :) Now he's had some health problems when he had a stroke.
In the New Kids On The Block Behind the Music special in 2008 he was talking about how the media played as him controling everything that NKOTB did but it wasn't. The boys put in the hard work to get where they were. :)

Jenny Beck? Unlike O'Rourke, she wasn't just a walking catchphrase.

Leon Kompowsky? A brick layer from Patterson, NJ. Like to have seen what he did in the 1980s. A lot less creepy than John Jay Smith.
