Subject: ‘Major Late 80s’ Stuff

Tell me this isn’t so late 80s. I dare you:

Did you know that Paul ‘Pee Wee’ Reubens was initially the voice of Roger Rabbit? :o
The Pee Wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special from 1988 definitely fits the bill for this thread:

Also, how could anyone alive in that time forget this:

Larry and Balki from “Perfect Strangers” explaining the “Family Matters” spin-off in 1989 (The Cosbys, only working class now).
There was also this gem for the Xers and XYers:

What are some other memorabilia and trivia from 1987 to 1989 that indicate that we were living in the late 80s?

Most clippings from Cracked Magazine and Newspaper ads are ‘exactly late 80s’ like these:

ALF, Pee Wee, Max Headroom, Crocodile Dundee, and a Cosby mention?! :o

How about an ALF costume, the Nintendo Entertainment System, and Madballs all on the same page?!

How about those Teen magazines?
Definitely, especially ones like these:

That’s Johnny Depp in his “21 Jump Street” days and Staci Keanan and Chad Allen from when they were on “My Two Dads”. Of course, “Growing Pains” and “Who’s The Boss?” were the sitcoms that teens were watching for a while then. Corey Haim and River Phoenix were the youngest movie stars of the late 80s. You can’t deny that this Tiger Beat is from the late 80s. It doesn’t get anymore late 80s in teen magazines then this, I don’t think.

Not quite what I was looking for when I thought of this thread. What are somethings that scream late 80s?

Tears for Fears (the group that sang “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”) singing a song that sounds like it could have been on the “Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band” album:

I’ll reiterate that. A new group with a late 60s sounding song during the time when the late 60s revival was getting started.

The poster for “Rude Awakening”:
https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-rude-awakening-us-poster-from-left-eric-roberts-cheech-marin-robert-72392069.html
It has it all! Cheech Marin (in the worst days of his career), yuppies, the peace sign, and hippies (late 60s and early 70s revival). Of course, back in the late 80s, people who weren’t paying all that much attention to how different 1969 was from the other years of the 60s labeled 1969 as the final year of the 1960s. The start of the yuppie takedown was in 1987 with “Robocop”, but it was a film trope that carried on into the 90s. It was only a matter of time after “The Wonder Years” that there would be a movie for Deadheads and neo hippies (think Pauly Shore) that trashed the “Thirtysomething” crowd. This film was from the same year when Joneses and Xers wore “Die Yuppie Scum Die” shirts. This poster is nicely
anti-yuppie.
