My great grandpa was born in either the mid or late 1880s and lived till 1986
Jeanne Calment who was born in 1875 had her prime childhood and early teen years in the 1880s and became supercentenarian in 1985.
Did you know anyone in the 1980s that was either born or was a child in the 1880s?

Well Willard Scott started doing his centenarian birthday segments on the Today show during that decade, and a few episodes can be found online. Often though, there wouldn't be a picture and just a short announcement about him/her.

Vanessa Redgrave - born in 1889, so she barely made the cut, but I remember in the 80's when she celebrated her 60th bday, thinking wow she's been around since 100 years.
The Vanessa Redgrave I know of was born in 1937.
