Subject: 80's Music/Dance Movies
Written By: CatwomanofV on 08/12/18 at 12:19 pm
The 80's had a lot of really good music/dance movies. To name just a few:
-Dirty Dancing
-Streets of Fire
-Footloose
-Flashdance
-Purple Rain
-Fame
-The Blues Brothers
-Xanadu
-Beaches
I'm sure there were many others. I was going to do a poll but I for one, couldn't pick just one. All of the ones that I have listed, I think are great.
I really don't think that music/dance movies since had the same caliber as they did in the '80s-but there may have been one or two that stood out.
What are your favorites?

1984 had the three B-initialed breakdancin' classics:
-Beat Street
-Body Rock
-Breakin' (along with the nearly forgotten Breakin' 2: Electric Bogaloo later that year)

I only own one DVD and that is Dirty Dancing. Its become a bit of joke that I own the DVD because I insist on watching the film whenever I spot that it is being shown on TV!
Blues Brothers is another favourite of ours.
The only others that I've seen on the list Cat posted are Flashdance and Fame

I have yet to see Fame. I did see Flashdance on stage about 2 years ago.

How was Flashdance?

How was Flashdance?
Outstanding. I think I like the stage production better than the movie. But, of course the movie was great.

I saw the film from a website, not a bad film.
