Not too much. I was too wrapped up in getting through the 70's. There was a little mystery about what the 80's might bring, but I don't recall predicting anything specific. I thought it would be more of the same, much like the 70's. And to an extent it was - but things were evolving, as always. TBH I was a bit scared about the 80's - I had this weird feeling the world might end in 1986 :-\\. (By the time 1986 rolled around I'd changed my mind.)
For me, 1980 was a year of major upheaval. But that's due to personal reasons. In regards to societal happenings, I didn't anticipate most of what happened in 1980; it just happened. Some good, some bad. But pretty much right on time.
