A thread for sharing and discussing 80s commercials. Considering the fact that 1989 is now 28 years old, it can be pretty interesting to look at how things have changed since then. The video below is a montage of a few commercials from 1989 I have on VHS and have since uploaded onto my YouTube channel.

There were several very local adverts in the mix.
The one for Continental pasta mix sauce (whatever its proper name was) with Keith Floyd was shown in the UK. Though I'd say it was a different brand name, maybe Crosse and Blackwell

The '80s commercial vault, VHSGoodiesWA, and the pannoni4 playlists on YouTube show lots of commercials from that decade (as well as the '90s, too.) You also never had to worry about squinting to read tiny text (or even recording, rewinding, and pausing to read larger blocks of text for products like cars, phone contracts, and pharmaceuticals) that you do in more recent ads.

I loved watching 80s and early 90s commercials since I was about 8. There was this one guy on Youtube named 80sCommercialVault (who still does videos) and he got me hooked with how commercials looked like in the past.
Here's his first 80s commercial compilation that he uploaded a while back.
