Some odd-tidbits about The Smiths ...
- Of the 4 studio albums they released, the only one top the UK chart was Meat is Murder in 1985. 2 singles were taken from it, and the only one to chart was That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore which made it to #49
- From 1983 - 1987, they had 15 UK Top 40 hits. 7 of those came from compilation albums and 1 of them was a non album single
- They never had a hit single in Canada, yet 5 of their albums (3 studio, and 2 compilations) reached the Top 40 in Canada.

Also, they released a self-titled debut album in '84; however, they released two singles before then. The same year, they released a compilation, Hatful Of Hallow, on which their song "How Soon Is Now" (one of their most popular singles, at 6 1/2 minutes long) appears.
