For some of our older members, what year would you say represented the peak of Dungeons & Dragons' mainstream appeal with teens, and the period in which it most terrified and offended older parents?

Possibly the early-mid 80s?

I think the mid 80s, I'm not so sure, I'm a 2000s kid
