To make my 1000th post count, I'm deciding to breathe some life into the '80s section with a small list of movies from the eighties that are difficult to find due to the following factors:

-The movie was never released on any home video format.
-The movie was only released on VHS and or Beta/Laserdisc and didn't have a high print run
-The movie was released on DVD, but is now out-of-print and hard to find
-The movie is rarely or never shown on TV
-The movie is not available to stream online on a legal source such as Netflix or a paid YouTube channel by the owner

As a result, the following movies are quite collectible in legal formats if on video, ranging from a few bucks for low-demand, low quality films to several hundred dollars for the rarest and most sought after. Unlike the '90s in which there were mostly large labels releasing films along with generally a higher print run, the '80s are much more prone to these rarities. Some of these were made-for-TV films, and others were direct-to-video usually by small labels. Everything listed on this thread should be feature length, but if a short-length feature is known, feel free to post, but make sure to include that its a short (under an hour). Finally, do not post any X-rated films, please.

I remember "Don't Cry, It's Only Thunder." Good flick-but a tear jerker. It was about a guy serving in Viet Nam who became attached to some orphans over there.

1984's Splatter University. It's a horror movie, but it might as well be a mid-80s parody about horror movies. A very funny movie.  8)

You just reminded me.  The one I want is T.A.G. the Assassinantion Game.

It starred Linda Hamilton as a college student playing a campus spy game where you "assassinate" other participants before they can "assassinate" you.  Except someone is playing the game for real!


I have a rare vhs copy of it but it never came to dvd (that I'm aware of) and it never gets airtime on HBO or sho or any of the orher channels.
