Subject: 80s Cartoons Made Into Movies/80s Movies Made Into Cartoons.

Written By: c_keenan2001@hotmail.com on 03/31/13 at 11:06 pm

I hope that us 80s kids remember all of the movies that were made into cartoos and vice versa.  I'll just give you some examples of what worked for me and what didn't work for me.

The Ewoks.

Nothing wrong with this cartoon.  It taught the usual morals and values.  The young ewoks learn from their elders respect and how to love each other.

The Droids

Again nothing wrong with this.  Morals and values are taught.  :) I just loved these cartoons.  :)

Chuck Norris came out with Karate Kommandos. Okay so it wasn't based on any film of his in particular, but I think it counts.

Wow Karate Kid? I have forgotten all about that one. To be honest I didn't remember the Robocop one either.
How about Ghostbusters? That was a popular movie turned into a popular kids cartoon!

Ghostbusters?  No.  The Real Ghostbusters?  YES!

Haha You're right! Although the other 80's Ghostbusters cartoon (The one with the gorilla) was also based on a live action show.
I think it was an older TV program, not a lot of people realized that i don't think. I doubt it was ever very popular though, my guess is it was resurrected to cash in on the name. The Real Ghostbusters it is!

Here's one some might have forgotten about Highlander: The Animated Series

http://cdn.follw.it/seriesposters/cache/300/2112_en.jpg

Also to go along with Chuck Norris, there was a Rambo cartoon!

The DVD sets of Filmation's Ghostbusters included a few bonus episodes of the live action TV show from the mid-70s.  No one watched the Live action show, so I too figure that the cartoon was brought out to capitolize on "The Real Ghostbusters"

But I didn't see the movie in '89, I saw it in '87 when it came out, don't ask how, because you won't believe me!

I thought so.  I thought something was off about the release date.
