I know what you mean about "Comfortably numb", even though it was from the Wall (1979), it was released as a single in 1980 in Canada (not sure about USA).  "The Voice" is an amazing song. Listened to it a thousand times when it came out during my 1st year of college.

We have the same favorite years.

I don't hate all 80's music just most of it. To me the great bands of the 70's sucked in the 80's and 80's bands just sucked
all together. Aerosmith, Floyd, Genesis, Yes...it seems as soon as soon has 1980 hit these guys forgot how to write music.

Edit to add.

The Moody Blues are probably the only band to come out of the 70's and continue to produce excellent music.

Tears For Fears Shout.  That's the song that made this band famous.  They seem to get out a lot of anger and aggression in this song.  Roland and Curt and the gang rocking out against things that are disturbing to them.  I guess that's how a lot of us felt back then.  :)
