I dunno, I'd bet the promo pieces are also pretty collectible.  In a way, they're probably harder to find than the vinyl.  Most folks kept their vinyl, very few had access to, let alone kept, the promos/adverts.

That's because of promo saturation bombing the record companies used to dump on retailers and radio stations.  In the summer of '94 I threw out Marilyn Manson and Foo Fighters swag by the garbage truckful and the next week all over again I'd be up to my ears in records, flats, posters, buttons, t-shirts, key chains, bottle openers, playing cards, lunch boxes, snow globes, and whatever else the marketing guys came up with.  It wasn't a question of wondering whether any of this sh*t might be valuable some day, I just wanted all that CRAP out of the way so I could get some work done!  Remember, for ever saturation campaign for a Marilyn Manson or a Foo Fighters, there were a dozen saturation campaigns for next week's big thing that turned out to be a flaccid flop!  I'd keep the t-shirt and sell the promo CD to the used record shop.  I'd wear the t-shirt and people would say, "I never heard of the Charlie Nobody Band."  And thanks to me, you won't!
