-Joe Raffa and Harrison Smith (writers/producers) of forthcoming movie six Degrees of Hell, starring Corey Feldman agreed to back this campaign.

* The makers of American Sunset already have their Corey site (http://coreyhaimremembered.com/ ) and are now onboard with our campaign and as a result will be offering a ‘Special’ on the American Sunset DVD where a percentage of the cost will be donated to the cost of the star.

– Very importantly, Corey Feldman, Judy and Cari Haim are all aware of all of our efforts and are 100% on board with this project. I know some think Corey F has been pretty quiet on this, but when the time is right you will all hear him!

– The guys at Six Degrees of hell are working hard on this campaign including:
-They are in contact with the Haim Family who are assisting them in all ways possible

-Six Degrees have already arranged the official signatory for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce application forms and are in contact with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

They are working on letters of influence and other stuff needed to support this application. There is a post-humous 5-yr ruling, as we all know, but Six Degrees are working on this. Who knows, maybe something can be done about this –we shall have to wait and see.

– They have events planned, where they will gather support from industry folk, including a Benefit Screening of Six Degrees of Hell in honour of Haim later this year

-Six Degs are working with various close friends of Corey and all are actively supporting the efforts being made.

* There was a red carpet event in LA this week, for forthcoming movie The Fields, which had a very high celeb and industry folk turnout. Harrison, together with a personal friend of the Haim Family, begun collecting signatures in support of our campaign, as well as personal endorsement letters too. The Chamber of Commerce will be shown the start of this letter gathering in the forthcoming weeks.

* The Benefit screening of Six Degrees of Hell is still planned for later in the year.

Yep, Michael Jackson is on the walk of fame, so is Judy Garland. Kiefer Sutherland got one when he got out of prison, and Robert DJ was in prison for nearly 2 years for drug offences.

They say that when the star is set in the ground, the fee for it is currently $30,000 - for the star itself, the block it rests in and the upkeep. However, it has been said that you can also make payments on it if you cannot afford the full cost up front.

The difference is, those who received stars before 1980, received them for free. After 1980 the price for stars was formed. Since them it has been raised monumentally, as per a cost of maintenance schedule someone in Hollywood drew up. And those before 1980? Yep, they have to now pay either annually or a flat one time fee, which I think is almost the same as a brand new star.

I would imagine the estate of those deceased would be responsible to pay for maintenance.

Very true. People like Charlie Sheen and Britney Spears have thrived on their problems. And yes, they did go after the Doctors in MJs case, no one ever blamed MJ for being an addict, like they did Corey. And Corey was given the drugs in Hollywood at 14. So sad.

Hmm, not going for the obvious one-liner here :)  If I read through the paperwork correctly, it's $30K for anyone accepted, but nominations are the cost of filling out the form and postage.  Actually winning is different.  Actually being in contention is different.  But anybody - for free - can be nominated for the Nobel Prize as well as nominated for a Star on the Walk of Fame.

Work has continued on securing official nomination letters to add to those that were gathered at the recent red carpet event in LA. We now have some big names supporting our efforts including Mickey Rooney and Dick Van Dyke!

This portfolio of letters will be presented to the Chamber of Commerce in the coming few weeks and the groundwork has been laid to waive the mandatory 5 year waiting period for a deceased celebrity. This is by no means confirmed but those involved are hopeful. We are asking for rules to be ‘bent’ here so this is being handled carefully by our ‘representatives’

There is of course the fee!. To pull this off we need to raise that fee.
There will be the 6 Degrees of Hell benefit screening, mentioned previously, to which a huge number of A-listers will be invited.

We also have the American Sunset campaign – We need to promote this. We need people to purchase that DVD.
One Corey Haim Facebook page has 11,000+ members – imagine if they all purchased one!!

They also put pastrami on their burgers - hence the "Crown."  I don't care for it, but they are wildly popular in these parts.

Fry sauce is a Utah thing.  It's just ketchup and mayonaise mixed together.  But it comes with fries at any of the above mentioned resturaunts and several others as well.  I usually have to add extra ketchup to mine though, because I only like a little bit of mayo.  Good stuff though.

I had the best burger... the bread was soft and flaky like a croissant...the meat was heavenly...the burger was $10 ala cart but it's Bev Hills so that's actually cheap  ;)   

I can't wait to go back....yeah it's not on plan but it was a worthy sacrifice

When I first moved down to KC 8 years ago I was a team line-haul driver for Yellow Transportation, and one of our stops was at a terminal in Salt Lake City. After we had our trailers swapped out and were getting ready to head out, we'd stop at this intersection south of the terminal (I think it was just south of I-80 on the west side of town) and walk over to Crown Burger. That's how I know about it.

but patty the OP hasn't read anything in this thread... they're just using us to get money when the Haim estate (what little there is) or Corey Feldman, who's not exactly hurting, could just fork over the cash for the damn star... My apologies to the person who (I'm sorry I don't remember which of you fine people made the comment) that this OP has made no effort to interact with the group. I assure you this is mainly due to a time issue, lots of work, ya know. However I like to respond to positive comments only, and for the most part, you nostalgics have had a fabulous and downright funny sense of humour. As I posted previously.

I did not assume there would be any interest in me personally, you know, cuz I'm all here for the Haimster and working for the cause, but hey thanks for the interest.

Apologies if anyone really is offfended by all the updates, I can assure you at my other job I have been working over 15 years full time and have no need or wish for an ipod, whatever the hell they are... perhaps a nice Ipad or a round ticket to Hawaii but nothing so trivial or necessary as one of those apparently favoured little gadgets.

Have been asked to post this official statement from 6 Degrees of Hell producers up.

"This is in response to a posting that was blatant in its ignorance. While anyone is free to express their opinion, please your have facts straight. This is a lot to ask for these days for Internet comments and posts, but we do ask for people to try. Our response is posted within the body of the original comment for accuracy.



"Hate to be a party pooper, but were only a month away and the donation isn't even at the quarter mark yet. What happened to all these bigwig fundraisers that were suppose to take place?”



As producer of Corey Feldman's "6 Degrees of Hell" we can validate Feldman's involvement.  A simple look at his Twitter timeline will show his commitment to getting a star for Corey Haim.  Additionally, our film has secured a Hollywood manager to sign the official Hollywood Walk of Fame application. Our film is working  in tandem with Corey Haim's mother, Judy in this effort. All of this is clearly documented.

As for "all these bigwig fundraisers" this person stated: There are two major events planned for the upcoming fall that will involved a screening of "6 Degrees of Hell." Being that our film is a horror movie, we all felt it would be best to screen it closer to Halloween in Los Angeles. Before posting such ignorance to a public forum, a simple question posted to the multiple venues for a direct response instead of a public forum like IMDB would have yielded a quicker answer. Once again the temptation for people to "be seen" in a public forum over rides simple logic and most of all courtesy.



“And you keep saying Corey Feldman is involved. The only thing I've heard of him lately is about a 300 pound woman who won't leave his house.” 



Feldman recently held an online web chat session that was overtly advertised on Twitter in which a lot of people participated and got confirmation from the actor himself of his participation in the star cause for his former friend. Feldman has posted on the 6 Degrees of Hell Facebook his support for the star numerous times and a simple Tweet to him online will give anyone he responds to a confirmation from the star himself.

By citing his personal issue, shows ignorance and the usual laziness of those who expect their information handed to them without the requisite due diligence of a responsible "fan." This person's post also highlights the most basic and naive understanding of Hollywood as "big wig fundraiser" was never stated or promised. The hope for our screening benefit is that a number of high profile celebrities that are known to have been close to late actor will attend. They will certainly be invited, but never once was a "big wig" fundraiser stated in such a manner or implied or alluded to. If you're going to post such negativity, get your facts straight.

If you read our Indiegogo home page it clearly states that any funds raised are RETURNED to the donors should the effort not make its goal. In setting this up, we knew ahead of time of concern of funds not only being raised but being used. Connecting our effort to a failed previous campaign is not only ignorant and incorrect, it smacks of libel and slander. Be careful of what you post in a public forum and have the decency to sign your full name to it when making such misinformed comments.

While we have no control over previous campaigns and no knowledge of how they were run, managed or mismanaged, this effort is being run through a legitimate film, with a celebrity and a manager all up front about the effort. To infer impropriety with monies collected, you should take into account Haim's own mother's public support for this effort. You are therefore trying to say that all of these people in a very public light may mishandle funds without any accountability. This is patently untrue and insulting.

You are uniformed and posted outright incorrect accusations and statements without the least bit of understanding or research. Party pooper indeed. We understand the Internet is full of scam artists and liars. We are running a legitimate campaign and doing so very publicly with a public celebrity, a public motion picture and Corey Haim's own mother. Between Twitter, the campaign's various ways to contact and the film's own email and active Twitter account, posting such "false information" on a public forum shows me more of someone searching for their 15 seconds of fame than accurate information. In the time it took to write such a statement or even the time it has now taken to respond to it, the aforementioned ways to confirm and dispel such concerns could have remedied the situation.
