I can't remember one single line of the lyrics except one word: "disconnected".

The song tells the story of a woman whose husband is far from her, somewhere in outer space, then she makes some kind of long-distance phone call and talks to him, until some noises cut the talk, then the operator tells her the call has been disconnected.

Any idea?

Do you remember if it was sung by a male or female?  Slow tempo?  New wave?  A song about space that comes to mind is Major Tom, but it does not have the word "disconnected" in it.

The only song I can think of with disconnected is the Pink Floyd song, I can't remember the song but at the end is a "conversation" between a telephone operator and a man trying to call his wife back home.  A man keeps answering and hanging up the phone.  The operator uses the word disconnected.

I hear deep in the shadows of my bad memory something like the operator saying "has been disconnected", then it gets some echo, like to add drama to the girl's situation...  But perhaps it's from another song...

Dang, I never would have guessed Rah Band, and I listen to that song all the time.

The Rah Band sadly missed the North American charts completely, but that's just further proof that the best songs are the ones not in the charts
