i love both but as much as I love Tears for Fears, I think Talk Talk are on a different level.

The reason I compare them is because their music is pretty similar.

I voted for TFF ... as I never even heard of Talk, Talk!!! But...if their music is similar...it would be hard pressed to be better than TFF as they had great voices... and some pretty big hits. If Talk, Talk had reached anywhere near TFF's success...I would have heard of them.
...or maybe I HAVE heard their music but didn't realize who the artist was!! I think I need to visit youtube now... :-\\
Okay.... Checked them out and I didn't know them at all. For some reason they never released anything in Australia (or it didn't chart). Strangely, they had some measure of success in New Zealand (which is very close to Australia).
TFF had much greater chart success world wide...

Suppose it's a matter of opinion. I think they have similar voices, but im a bit more of a Talk Talk fan. :)

Agreed. Talk Talk's biggest hit, It's My Life, is pretty awesome. But Tears For Fears has a pretty substantial catalog of well-loved tunes.

Actually, It's My Life imo is pretty average as far as their music goes, which is saying a lot. :) TFF on the other hand have about 8 or 9 songs I love and the rest is kind of not my thing. But I love almost every song Talk Talk did before they went post-rock.

I love TFF, but only the first album. I love all Talk Talk albums except "Laughing Stalk," which was a piss-poor attempt at psychedelic drone music. So, I'm going with Talk Talk.

Probably my favourite track by them. "Life's What You Make It" is a close second.
I voted Talk Talk but I also dig TFF, especially "Woman In Chains", "Change" and "Pale Shelter".

It depends on your taste. Tears for Fears had more commercial success. So does that make them better? Not really.
I like Talk-Talk, but I like Tears for Fears more. "Pale Shelter", "Everybody wants to rule the world", "Mother's talk", "Mad World" are included among the songs I enjoy.

I like both groups but for versatility I go with Tears for Fears. However, I must give credit where credit is due 'It's my life' by Talk Talk is one heck of a song.

I never heard of Talk Talk (or don't recall them if I did) so I went with Tears For Fears by default.
