Vince Clarke is a British pop musician and songwriter who entered the world of music as a founding member of Depeche Mode in 1980. April 4, 2011 will be the 30th anniversary of his first chart appearance
'Dreaming of Me', the debut single by Depeche Mode, entered the UK chart on April 4, 1981. Though his stay with Depeche Mode was brief, his other projects kept him going, and since 1985, he has been one half of the legendary pop duo Erasure.

my favorite Depeche is actually the stuff they did with Vince and the stuff they did the couple years after he left. Violator has nothing on Speak and Spell to be truthful.
