Here's three choices from me. I don't even think these ones were singles, actually I know the last one definately was not ...
Masquerade - Love Hurts (1983)

Industry - Romantic Dreams (1984)

I've heard of the group Big Country and I thought that the song "In A Big Country" was their only hit.

Not bad. I like 'em in this order,
1. Industry - Romantic Dreams (1984)
2. Big Country - Flame of the West (1984)
3. Masquerade - Love Hurts (1983)

How about these songs...
I don't think any of them made to the U.S. charts, but they're some of my favorites from the '80s.

I had that Industry record. Best known for "State of the Nation." Jon Carin joined Pink Floyd later. He co-wrote "Learning to Fly."
The Lyres were huge in Boston.
Wang Chung wasn't a favorite of mine, but every song on "Points on the Curve" had top 20 potential.

I think there are other songs by Luther that should've been a hit.

"In A Big Country" was their only Top 40 hit in the U.S. They had other Top 40 hits in other countries, but "In A Big Country" is the only one people in the U.S. know.

Orange Juice had 9 chart singles in the UK between 1981-1984. 'Rip it Up' was their only Top 10. The band made zero noise in North America, but lead singer Edwyn Collins did have a Top 40 across North America in 1995 with A Girl Like You

In the R&B charts, but nothing to scream about in the mainstream parts past 'The Rain'. A follow-up 'You Can't Hide From Love' was a minor hit.

I've heard of the group Big Country and I thought that the song "In A Big Country" was their only hit.
Big Country had 23 UK Chart singles (15 of those were in the Top 40) between 1983-1999. In my opinion, they were the greatest band ever to come out of Scotland

She also had 'Kisses on the Wind'. She was a bigger star overseas where she had 13 Top 40 hits in the UK

Of course you have certain genres that would be bigger hits in other decades or even parts of the decade (some R&B and country for instance).

Whoever made those videos, needs to recheck their facts. The first video:
'Live Every Minute' was Ali Thompson's only hit in the States?
He had a Top 40 hit called 'Take A Little Rhythm'

Some of those also were big hits.
'Imagination' by Belouis Some was Top 20 in the UK
'Kiss You (When It's Dangerous) by Eight Seconds was Top 20 in Canada
'Rain' by Dragon was Top 20 in Australia
'Rain in May' by Max Werner was Top 20 in the Netherlands

In that 1984 clip, it chronicles Martha and the Muffins with 'Black Stations / White Stations', which they do state the group was popular in Canada (which is true; this song reached #26), but they also say they had several hits in the late 70s including 'Echo Beach'. This is untrue. 'Echo Beach' was the band's first chart single, and it charted in 1980.

I'm gonna say Natasha King's "AM-FM" in 1983,I know she followed up with another song "On Ice" a few years later.

Better yet: it was a Top 3-hit, and I'm quite sure it also charted in Germany.
