I'm a 90s kid but I'd say you were more of a 90s kid than anything, turning 1 in 1990 and 10 in 1999. A pure 80s kid would be born around 1976 or so. I'm a 90s kid born in 1986. I turned 4-13 in the 90s so that's about as 90s kid as it can get. I don't consider you an 80s kid at all but you're free to like the 80s.

Not until you register. Why is it that you have not registered yet?

No. I see you as a 90's (more specifically mid 90's)/early 00's kid.

If you were born in 1989, I hate to say this, but you are not an 80s kid. To be a true 80s kid, you have to be born in 1975-1977 because according to research, most adults remember their earliest childhood memories beginning at age 3, and I think age 3 is the beginning of your childhood because that's when most kids that age start preschool. The preschool age is 3 to 4. You start grade school at 5 years old. so technically, an 80s kids was born in 1975 to 1977 because in order to be an 80s kid, you have to remember the whole 80s decade as a child.

http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/05/girl.gif Oi, that's up to you, Doll! You may have been a baby, but only you know how much the '80s played a part in your childhood. Who knows, maybe you had older siblings and grew up listening to the music, watching the movies, and playing with all the toys from that time...

Nope, you're definitely a 90's kid just like me! I was born 88 and I don't remember a thing about the 80's.

Ok, let's kick the ballistics right here. I might offend a lot of people in this board but facts are facts. It's all in the numbers, and it's all in biology. I believe that your childhood begins when you are 3 years old because that's when you start going to preschool and recognizing the world around you, and according to research, most adults remember their earliest childhood when they were 3 years old. At 3 years old, that's when you start forming photogenic memories. A lot of people want to say that your childhood starts when you begin elementary school as a kindergarten at 5 years old, but that's not true and logical. Like I said, it's all in numbers and biology.
If you were born in 1975, you are a late 70s/early to mid 80s child (age 3 in 1978, age 4 in 1979, age 5 in 1980, age 6 in 1981, age 7 in 1982, age 8 in 1983, age 9 in 1984, age 10 in 1985, age 11 in 1986, age 12 in 1987)
If you were born in 1976, you are a late 70s/full 80s child. (age 3 in 1979, age 4 in 1980, age 5 in 1981, age 6 in 1982, age 7 in 1983, age 8 in 1984, age 9 in 1985, age 10 in 1986, age 11 in 1987, age 12 in 1988)
If you were born in 1977, you are a full 80s child (age 3 in 1980, age 4 in 1981, age 5 in 1982, age 6 in 1983, age 7 in 1984, age 8 in 1985, age 9 in 1986, age 10 in 1987, age 11 in 1988, age 12 in 1989)
If you were born in 1978, you are an 80s/early 90s child (age 3 in 1981, age 4 in 1982, age 5 in 1983, age 6 in 1984, age 7 in 1985, age 8 in 1986, age 9 in 1987, age 10 in 1988, age 11 in 1989, age 12 in 1990)
If you were born in 1979, you are an 80s/early 90s child (age 3 in 1982, age 4 in 1983, age 5 in 1984, age 6 in 1985, age 7 in 1986, age 8 in 1987, age 9 in 1988, age 10 in 1989, age 11 in 1990, age 12 in 1991)
So, if you really look at it, those who were born in 1975, 1976, and 1977 are the true 80s children because they remember the whole decade as kids in the 80s

It's the same for 80s teens. You begin your teen years when you turn 13.
If you were born in 1965, you were a late 70s/early 80s teen (age 13 in 1978, age 14 in 1979, age 15 in 1980, age 16 in 1981, age 17 in 1982)
If you were born in 1966, you were a late 70s/early 80s teen (age 13 in 1979, age 14 in 1980, age 15 in 1981, age 16 in 1982, age 17 in 1983)
If your were born in 1967, you were an early to mid 80s teen (age 13 in 1980, age 14 in 1981, age 15 in 1982, age 16 in 1983, age 17 in 1984)
If you were born in 1968, you were an early to mid 80s teen (age 13 in 1981, age 14 in 1982, age 15 in 1983, age 16 in 1984, age 17 in 1985)
If you were born in 1969, you were an early to mid 80s teen (age 13 in 1982, age 14 in 1983, age 15 in 1984, age 16 in 1985, age 17 in 1986)
If you were born in 1970, you were an full 80s teen (age 13 in 1983, age 14 in 1984, age 15 in 1985, age 16 in 1986, age 17 in 1987)

Thank you for saying that because there's a lot of people here who don't want to grow up so they include 18 and 19 with the adolescent phase when that's far from reality. Once you hit 18, you are an adult by law. Why do you think people graduate out of high school at 17 or 18? Even though 18 and 19 is a teen number because of the word "teen" at the end, the age of 18 is when you begin your young adult stage.

it's photoshopped so it never really happened. Just like the "facts" in this thread. It's all a matter of opinion and borders on decadeology BS.

I consider "one of us" to be someone who "came of age" in the 80s. You know, started driving, first kiss, first job, first love, first heartbreak. My daughter was born in late 1988. She graduated high school in 2007. Even though she was born in the 80s, she was a 90s child and an 00s kid.
It's all good though. If you want to lump yourself in with all of us old 80s people, we welcome you with open arms 8)

I was born in 1981 (hitting the 30 mark in a month and a half :\'(). I consider myself an 80s child. I was into the toys and cartoons of that time period and that was my childhood. I am a 90s teen though.

I was born in 1974 but I think I would think of myself as an 80's kid,I was 15 years old when the 80's ended.
