Okay for those of you that don't know Pete Burns was the main frontman/singer in the group Dead or Alive, most famous for their hit "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" Even though its pretty much just been Pete all along, he's going solo. The new song "Never Marry an Icon" is produced by The Dirty Disco and was just released yesterday on iTunes, Amazon, e-music, and any other popular digital music service. Before you say it, I know Pete sounds like a robot in the song, but that was HIS request and what he wanted. It is EXTREMELY addictive and I have literally had this song on repeat for the past day and a half now and already had to charge the iPod xP It reminds me a lot of Dead Or Alive's older stuff :)

The song is stylin'.  He's got good lyrics and the voice is electronically manipulated in today's trend.  The music has kind of an upbeat crunky sound.  He's not trying to re-hash the eighties -- it doesn't sound like "You Spin Me Round" or "Brand New Lover."

It is with extreme sadness, and absolute anger, that I have to announce that no further releases will be made available via digital download in the future.

This decision has been made due to the illegal posting of Pete Burns record 'Never Marry An Icon' by various individuals on YouTube, and other 'share' sites, less than a week after release. They call themselves 'Fans', but they are really the enemy! A blatant act of piracy, which is as much a product of YouTube's scandalous lack of clearance policy, which should verify ownership of copyright in any item posted on their website, but never is! And is, as far as this record label is concerned, one of the major reasons for the decline of a music industry, dying as a result of YouTube's total lack of ethics, discretion, or morality, both personally and legally.





The promo video release for 'Never Marry An Icon' has now been cancelled.

The 12'' Extended Club Remix of 'ICON' ( due for release 21/09/2010 ) is now cancelled.





All future releases by Pete Burns and Dead or Alive will be in 'physical CD & DVD format', and can only be obtained via pre-order, and pre-payment, through bristarrecords@gmail.com. Full name & postal address, together with an International Money Order, Postal Order, or Certified or Personal Cheque, will be required, at least 30 days in advance of release. Address for remittances will be sent via return email upon receipt of orders.

Obviously, the cost of obtaining future recordings and product will be higher for production and distribution of physical CD/DVD Packages, than a simple download. I have and will, take all of your comments and suggestions into consideration. And since there seems to be a real demand for the physical product in CD and DVD form, with artwork, sleeve notes etc., I will definately be implimenting production and distribution for those who order them.

As far as the digital download situation is concerned, Yes!, I do realise there are areas of the world, where people will have difficulty accessing
and buying the physical CD product, and downloadables should be made available for ease of access!

Therefore, I have reconsidered my decision, and will be making downloads available too! But I hope my point came across with regard to sharing our efforts in the public domain, which does affect the possibilities of commercial chart success, and seriously hampers efforts to spread THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO PETE!

If you want to help him, and me, please do not post the entire record on sites such as YouTube, sharebeast etc. If you feel the need to help with
