Subject: What a bad video!!

This came out in 1981 but the quality of the vid makes ya think it was released more towards now ;D (Which is shocking cause as we all know the 80s were pretty much the best decade ever (For many things))

I had this pegged right away as early 1980's. First generation chromakey, overuse of video switching equipment, overlays instead of meshes in video effects, static shots that linger for 20+ seconds, neon overburns, and monochrome backgrounds. All of these and other things scream "Early 1980's" to me, because these were almost all new technologies, and they were frequently overused.

It's not a bad song either, Max. Flock of Seagulls were awesome. Though I would place Space Age Love Song and Wishing above I Ran.

I was a rabid AFOS fan when I was a kid. I couldn't get my hair to do that because it wasn't long enough! Consider that Bill Nelson took initial interest in the band as merit prima facie. Think of Mike Howlett as the fifth Seagull. He really helped them put together a dreamy New Wave sound exemplified by the above-mentioned "Space Age Love Song" and "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)." I thought Paul Reynolds was the best musician of the four and the band did not survive his departure. I really wanted to like "Dream Come True," but it was just too much of a mess.
