So...
Olivia Newton John - Magic
Hall & Oates - Kiss On My Last
Air Supply - All Out Of Love (for nostalgic reasons)
Billy Joel - Still Rock n Roll

I graduated from high school in 1980, so each and every song I remember from that year has some special nostalgia for me. The first five months of the year being the last days in high school. "Are You Ready" brings me back to New Years Eve 1979, the song was playing at midnight when the New Years Eve kiss was taking place with the girl I just met four hours earlier. "Ride Like The Wind" seemed to be always playing in my earpiece as I ran all those miles each morning for baseball. "Rock With You" seemed to be playing all the time. Sacharin sweet, "Lost In Love" by Air Supply being played on the A.M. station out of Canada. The Eagles "The Long Run" cassette practically wore out on rides home after basketball games.
Then getting into the three months of summer. Seemed like the Dirt Band was on somebody's stereo at every party on those weekend bonfire get togethers. Journey's "Anyway You Like It" blasted out of the juke box at the local hangout where you got a great burger, fries and a Coke for under two bucks. Working with the coolest 24 year old guy in the world, just out of the service, his stories of being stationed in Germany and listening to Mick sing about his "Emotional Rescue" on the radio as we made deliveries all day. Borrowing my sisters AC/DC's "Back In Black" tape for a roadtrip and breaking it, I still owe her for that cassette. Rocky Burnette's "Tired Of Towing The Line" was playing when that special girl said "we could still be friends."
Entering college as a freshman there was Bruce Springsteens' "Hungry Heart" and Robbie Dupree's "Steal Away" to get me over my home sickness. As I adjusted John Lennon's "Double Fantasy" album was along for the ride as I went bowling with the new friends I finally did make. Smokey Robinson's "Cruisin" sat on the top of the countdown for Solid Gold, the third floor lounge always full to see the Solid Gold Dancers do their thing each week. Diana Ross's "Upside Down" drove me nuts as it always seemed to be playing.
All the songs from that year, good or bad, all have some memory to go with it, again good or bad. To pick a top five out there, im-freaking-possible.

I like obscure forgotten 80's songs. I also grew up listening to fm radio late at night, so I like songs with more of a night time atmosphere...
Rod Stewart - Passion (this song just screams 1980!)
Cliff Richard - Carrie
Pat Benatar - In the Heat of the Night
Alice Cooper - Clones (We're All)
Rough Trade - High School Confidential (yes, I'm a Canadian too!)
The Pumps - Bust the TV
Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster
Van Halen - ...And The Cradle Will Rock

I've actually heard of this one---I remember loving this song at the age of 5 and I would look forward to going on to highschool because of this tune!
