Their career spanned the 70s too, but their hardcore fame came in the 80s.
I voted for Automatic, the phenomenal Dare Me and Jump. "Fire" was a good forgotten gem too.

Jump (for My Love) has always been my favourite. I also liked 'Be There', their minor hit from the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack

It was good but it kinda lost that feelgood vibe which was a shame. Good track though as a stand alone.
I'll check out "Be There" now.

'Automatic' for 'shock' value...insofar as Ruth had more of a butch vocal than most blokes did!
But 'Slow Hand' was probably the more enjoyable...

You know, for years I never realized that was a Pointer Sisters song just because I always thought it was a guy singing! :o

The general consensus was that the vocal track had been 'slowed down' as a gimmick, until it was proven otherwise!

The late June Pointer had a memorable solo song called 'Little Boy Sweet' that was from the movie 'National Lampoon's Vacation' (The scenes with Christie Brinkley). She also sang on the 1987 hit 'Respect Yourself' by that guy from Moonlighting. Man, whatever happened to him? :D

I've never heard the Pointers Sisters version of "Fire". I have heard the Babyface/Des'ree version of it though which sounds good.

'Jump (for my love)' is my favourite, followed by 'He's So Shy' and 'Automatic' even though they sound like blokes in that one.
